In camera-control research, video models are often scored by running pose estimators like COLMAP on the generated video and comparing the camera path they recover with the one that was requested. If an estimator is wrong, some of that error lands on the model. We tested three estimators against eight virtual cameras with exactly known positions. COLMAP placed six of the eight, and one of those was facing the wrong way. Nothing in its output flagged it. Full write-up below.

The K-pop group nouerA featured Evercoast multi-view capture and 4D Gaussian splatting in their newly released music video '.exe', which pulled in over 3M views in under a day. A special shout-out to Tricomtek and SL8 Studio, who produced the 4D performance. Volumetric capture is changing what is possible for producers and creatives by allowing key decision-making to happen after the shot is done, and integrate capture footage and camera moves into scenes that would otherwise be prohibitive.
