Introducing Sextant: App Store intelligence built by an indie dev, for indie devs.
I've been building iOS apps since 2017, and I've poured everything I've learned about ASO into this tool.
Most indie apps target keywords they'll never rank for. Sextant is a Mac app that maps who ranks for every search around your app, scores each one by fit, popularity and difficulty, and tells you which ones you can actually win.
It's live on Product Hunt today 🚀 (link bellow)
I've been testing it on my own apps for a while now. Here's the result of one of my apps, after switching keywords to the ones Sextant flagged as winnable, daily impressions went from ~80 to 300+, and first-time downloads jumped 258% 👇
Come check it out and tell me what you think 👇

LinkedIn now has a “Seems like AI slop” button.
Not spam. Not misinformation.
AI slop.
We’ve officially reached peak internet💀
For those wondering, here's the date I launched my first ever app to the Appstore. It was a math game built entirely with Storyboards!
And it actually had a ton of downloads, but my monetization strategy was ads, so I made peanuts with it 😅
I think I'm feeling nostalgic guys, sorry
That’s why my next product is taking weeks, not days to build, even with frontier AI models.
Because building a good product still requires:
- Deep product understanding
- Domain knowledge
- Good product taste
- Thoughtful UI/UX
- A ridiculous amount of iteration
AI can accelerate development, but it can’t replace knowing what to build, why it matters, and what makes it genuinely good.
I have no idea how it’ll perform once I launch.
But I’m pretty damn sure it’ll be a product I’m proud of.
contrary to popular belief, vibe-coding a good product is still very hard..
requires a good understanding of what you're trying to build, UX, & hella back/forth to translate your vision to the agent
creating a product that you expect 1000's of people to use requires a lot of testing + attention to detail, it's not the same as building quick internal tools that only serve one purpose
I really miss the days when my feed on X was just a bunch of nerds tinkering with code and technology, sharing ideas, having meaningful discussions, and genuinely engaging with the community.
Now it feels like an endless stream of AI bros flooding the timeline with AI agent hype, engagement bait, and the same recycled “get rich quick with AI” articles.
Great tip!
Another useful trick: if you own a domain, you can use iCloud+ to create custom email addresses for free (assuming you already have a subscription).
For example, if you own mydomain .com, you can create support@mydomain .com and have all emails delivered straight to your iCloud inbox.
No need to pay for a separate email hosting service.
i said i'd make a guide on an alternative to this that's way better (less risk to get banned)
allowing you to create virtually unlimited (cap is 999 i think) emails for $2/mo
perfect for mass-ugc
so here's a full guide

Apple lets you use up to 5 custom domains, with up to 10 email addresses per domain, through iCloud+.
That’s potentially 50 custom email addresses without paying for separate email hosting.
Here’s the official setup guide:

Started adding the new App Store Headers to my apps.
One image at the top of the page, and the whole listing feels like a real brand.
