Dr. King once said, "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." True greatness lies in lifting others, making a difference, and serving with purpose. Let’s honor his legacy by finding ways to serve and create a better world together. #MLKDay

They say to write the book you want to read but can't find.
Here's the danger:
If you can't find it, there's a 99% chance agents, publishers, and reviewers don't like it or want it.
I'm not saying you shouldn't go for it. Whatever *it* is you're looking for, someone else out there has felt the same.
Write for them (and for yourself).
But recognize that finding your fellow rebels can be a seriously uphill battle, and brace yourself for pushback.
The very thing you most crave might be the very thing the established book market is quickest to reject.

If #MGLit sales are down, why do people not want to hear what actual students are asking for? If many of the same types of books are being published but not selling, maybe... try asking kids what they want? (But not ALL graphic novels.)

“ I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” Anne Of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. This was a sketch from my sketchbook and after just recently returning from Prince Edward Island, I decided to paint it for my favorite time of year. #october #kidlit #kidlitart

Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people -
people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.

Not every day is a good day.
Not everyday is all that exciting.
Some days can be rather rubbish actually, or just a bit ‘meh’.
Today though, Bear was having a lovely day.
Some days are just lovely.

i keep seeing writers who say they queried 60 or 80 or 100 agents
i’ve only found about 20 agents that feel like a “good fit” for my book
am i doing something wrong? 😅
