We met this gent on holiday and he consented to photo. Amazing bike adapted for his left hemiparesis after stroke. Power assist, he uses right leg and arm and travels miles. ICE bikes do good adapted trikes too he says.

Sounds a simple public health measure to reduce needless death and injury. But human nature behind the wheel proves otherwise. 20's plenty in residential areas.

Great that we've kept recruiting to answer important questions about timing of anticoagulation after ischaemic stroke.
Was great talking to so many sites at the #OPTIMAS active sites teleconference. There were very interesting discussions on stroke #research, uncertainty in clinicians and also recruitment in the current pandemic.
Thank you to all who attended😀

Our pleasure to take part in answering a useful question! Potential cases arising most days.
. @exeterstroke @RDEResearch have recruited the 500th participant onto the #OPTIMAS trial. This is an amazing achievement and we are getting closer to our recruitment target🥳
Thank you to all sites for your continued efforts we could not conduct this #research without you⭐️
V impressed with 'Stroke narrator' aspect of the EPIC MyCare electronic record. With practice it'll capture acute stroke data quickly and pull into an accurate record of patient journey. Goes live on 10th October.
V impressed with EPIC My Care platform for Stroke Narrator. Quick clicks to recording an acute stroke encounter without paper; people; times; orders and outcomes. Should get slick with practice. Great for @SSNAPaudit data.

Thank you @NHSuk⭐️#research wouldn’t be possible without your invaluable support. Thank you to all trusts for recruiting participants onto the #OPTIMAS trial and continuing to recruit over the past four months of uncertainty.

Well done to every NHS Trust in England - all of which recruited participants to studies in 2019-20. Giving patients everywhere the opportunity to take part in research. bit.ly/31yRuPO #NHSresearch
Face masks in enclosed public spaces are now the norm. If you don't have a good reason to be exempt, then you need to be on board with the national effort.
Peter retiring? Sorry we were out of the loop down here. Must get the Exeter team together to send our best.
Departmental teaching on cerebellar strokes - lateralising signs and typical textbook cerebellar signs may be lacking. Gait analysis is key. Headache common, even without vertebral artery dissection. HINTS exam needs lots of practice to get slick.
Let's try and all stay in this together. Keep the distancing and safety measures up. Keep R0 down. Shield our most vulnerable and build their confidence, so that when lockdown is eased they feel part of society.
Let's not collude in the idea that 'retirement is time to put your feet up.' For better ageing, keep active, do things differently but stay out of the armchair mostly. Night night...
