This is good framing. A Trump admin truly seeking a good economy might chicken out, deport a few thousand people and declare the wall built, as it were. But a Trump admin looking to crash the economy has myriad ways of doing so. It's an insider attack with root privilege.
As someone who would love to see a flourishing and independent Gaza, Netanyahu in handcuffs in the Hague, and every last Israeli settlement removed from the West Bank... I can only say that this statement is a flatulent load of horse shit and its authors can go fuck themselves.
This thread is optimistic. Everything listed is what the median R presidential candidate would attempt do. They may not have time for everything.
I'm more worried about national security: NATO, the dollar, secrets, proliferation, etc. This admin cares nothing for US interests.
If I were particularly devious, and I imagine Trump's
SHS will be, I'd aim to target a significant denaturalization and deportation effort towards Hispanic voters who are registered Democrats.

This is the heart of the problem we've been facing. Well-funded and well-targeted propaganda and lies seeping into a thousand different channels, each requiring 100X the effort to combat. Utterly asymmetric warfare.
Replying to @speechboy71
I think Democrats cannot adequately combat right-wing propaganda. People report that their personal finances are good, but they think the economy is bad and crime is rampant due in part to illegal immigrants because that's what the GOP says & the media regurgitates it.
In 2016, the problem was how to deal with President Donald Trump being the worst person in the room for every policy decision. In 2024, odds are Trump will be the best person in the room for most decisions. The Overton window is wide open.
I am torn between understanding that we can't let the bastards grind us down, and remembering, as if anew, every fifteen minutes that a new Rubicon has been crossed and life in this country will never quite be the same again.
I'd think it would be relevant to the free press of America that our enemies are celebrating the results of this election as their final victory over our country.
The level of chutzpah here is off the charts. Thanks for the new Trump term, media, but sadly the resistance is dead by exhaustion and won't be goosing your subscription numbers again.
To everyone who canceled their @washingtonpost subscription: Today is the day to reinstate it.
We need a free and strong press to confront what's ahead. And the Post, like other newspapers, exercises far more power through investigation and reporting than through editorials.
I wasn't expecting this level of insight from an account named @AdderallBets.

Unfortunately this is symptom-level analysis. The actual root cause is that the electorate was programmed to be hyper-sensitive to these topics. Under different circumstances the programming would have been different. The real problem is the programmers' ability to program.
Very few people understand how utterly cooked this country will be after four years of this Republican party running the federal government.
