We had an impressive turnout and quality of ideas at the first Built on Postcode pitch session last week, reaffirming the depth of Nigeria’s innovation talent. The session demonstrated how the @NipostNgn digital postcode infrastructure can unlock value across healthcare, logistics, delivery and real estate, strengthening public services and creating economic opportunities. Join us as the next set of innovators pitch on the next edition of Built on Postcode at 12 noon on Saturday, 7 November on our YouTube channel. Before that, you can swipe through to discover the first wave of solutions that have been built on Nigeria’s postcode. #KnowYourPostcode (1 of 2)

On this portfolio-maxxing convo, just do you. Build for where you are in your career and what you’re optimising for. The portfolios of designers at Apple might look minimal because the Apple name already carries a certain level of credibility. Don’t compare yourself to them when the only company you’ve worked at is a fintech that never launched. This is what I tell people. My last portfolio was built specifically for the kind of job I was looking for. When I moved on, I rebuilt it. As much as I don’t advise anyone to create a portfolio with sliding doors, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your greatest portfolio asset is your work. That could be communicated through the names of the places you’ve worked, your personal brand, or the portfolio itself. When building your portfolio, think about what you’re optimising for at your current stage of your career and, more importantly, what you need to get your next job. Then build for that.
We’re always amazed by how minimal the portfolios of designers at Apple are. In my opinion, less is more. Your work should do the talking. Some portfolios I’ve been seeing on the TL require high-end laptops just to load properly because of all the “take a flight through my work” animations. 😂 Sometimes, you’re better off keeping things simple.

Africa's AI runs on computers thousands of miles away, and Cencori just committed to changing that, all the way down to the silicon. Bold is feeling like an understatement already, and that’s exactly what the continent needs. Big ups @bolaabanjo @Thedanieloreofe
Today we're making a commitment. Cencori (@cencori) will build energy-efficient inference infrastructure for Africa, from the platform AI agents run on all the way down to the silicon. Most of Africa's AI runs on computers thousands of miles away. It's expensive and slow, and the data leaves the continent. We think that has to change. So we're building it here. Models served from African soil. Infrastructure designed to do more with less power. And over time, our own inference chips: ENX. This is a long road, and we're starting now. cencori.com/newsroom/energy-…

In 2023, I wrote down an idea for a world where anyone could build software just by describing it. Today, more than 70 million projects have been built with @Lovable. 100,000 PRs later, we're at a point where we fork entire computers, including their memory, running processes, environment and data to give the best customer experience. I love reading about the history of how technology is built, so I wrote down what I got right & what I got wrong back in 2023 and the journey so far. The team will continue sharing what we're learning as we build the software of the future. Here's our inaugural post:

New build- Assay. AI has a habit of making things up (sometimes). It is time you had something that could cross-check what AI writes. Say hello to assay.extrafemi.com

I think the stupidest thing some girls of this generation do is make videos insulting their mothers for not marrying rich and consequently not giving them a rich upbringing. Your mom’s crime isn’t marrying a poor man, it’s her inability to raise you into a decent human being.

Why is anyone shocked ?
JUST IN: Trump's allies and White House officials are blaming the prolonged war with Iran for major Republican losses in the US midterm elections, according to WSJ. Trump is now facing warnings from advisers that the war he launched alongside Israel in february could define his presidency and shape how history remembers him.

I have written 3 papers on AI and built at least 20 tools. Let me know what exactly you are looking for.
We know how ambitious this is. We also know we can’t build it alone. We’re always looking for engineers, researchers, infrastructure builders and partners who want to help build this from the ground up. We’re heavily bootstrapped. There’s no big budget behind us, and I won’t pretend otherwise. But if building Africa’s own AI computing infrastructure, all the way down to the silicon, is a mission you believe is worth your time and effort, I want to hear from you. My DMs are open.

I love Nigeria. It doesn’t take long for everyone to find out they are in the same mess regardless of social status. People were cool with the Band A or B thing so far they’re not at the bottom of the list of choice areas who will be enjoying constant electricity. Now everybody is in darkness. Ati Band A oooo ati Band B oooo ati Band C ooooo zero light for everybody.
Electricity is poor in Surulere, Lagos! What the hell is happening

They need to change their name from Texas to “Arikuyeri” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Texas elected a Democratic senator and governor? Last time this happened was either in the late 1980s or early 1990s (I cannot remember).
