Since it was published in 2018 my memoir, Eye Can Write, has sold over 16,000 copies.
Importantly for me it has changed perceptions of what is possible for pupils labelled with PMLD. All my royalties go to @TeachUsToo

Poem 27 was co-written with Jonathan, online. This one we did line by line, pushing each other to test the surrealist boundaries. He wrote using a spelling board by moving his eyes. What fun we had!
What an honour!
Yesterday Jonathan was conferred a posthumous degree by @BathSpaUni, where he studied creative writing. We are immensely grateful as a family to BSU for this honour, which Jonathan's sister Susannah collected on our behalf to a standing ovation.
There's a video of it here: youtu.be/USclhl58GuY?is=WNuB…
This time last year Jonathan went to be in Jesus' Garden forever. In January last year before he got ill Jonathan wrote this poem - he was sure of Jesus' love and where he was going.
We miss him immensely, but also grateful for a life lived in all it's fullness.
Today is Jonathan's birthday.
We love him deeply, miss him hugely and we're grateful for the years we had with him.
Really grateful to Pie Corbett for sharing the poetry he created with Jonathan for the Children’s Poetry Summit. Jonathan loved writing with him online, and some of their poems are included in the article.

Jonathan wrote a letter for his sisters - dated December 2019 - to be given to them in readiness for their first Christmas without him.
With their permission I share now what he wrote in the hope it might help others grieving at this time.

Jonathan would be so proud of today’s launch of the Alliance for Inclusive Literacy Education.
What began as his “Voice for the Voiceless” is now a chorus — united to ensure literacy for all, regardless of label or diagnosis.

Wonderful tribute from Sir Michael Morpurgo to Jonathan:
'From the first moment I met his beaming smile ten years ago, I felt at once there was a warmth and open-heartedness about him I had not known anywhere before.'

Amazing tribute @satellitesevent.
More wonderful was the increase in young people with disabilities coming to Satellites. It's exciting to see the vision Jonathan shared of all young people feeling a valued part of God's church coming to life. youtu.be/iv8CSqO_Hbo
