an isolated mistake is jarring. an intentionally repeated mistake is jazz.

been thinking a lot about how do we make an agent we would collectively all want. in some strange way it is the role woman has taken on for so long; the wife who dotes, the mother who tirelessly loves; the being who takes on the load of humanness we care to disregard. im excited for an era where we can all have this level of care and hopefully give all the amazing mothers and wives the break they deserve.
there’s this vintage short essay 'i want a wife' by judy brady, a tired 1970's housewife who asks for a wife of her own to offload tedious tasks to and it is also inadvertently one of the best product roadmaps i've seen for personal ai assistants/ home robotics

a few weeks ago i took a damascus steel making class. i didn’t and still don’t care how steel is made. but what i cared about was how i can further hone my craft. being a good designer means continually learning how your hand interacts with your eye. not only do we have to ask ourselves if this feels right, but how quick can we execute our vision. steel making was this concept bought to the physical. you had to continually mold steel to the right length. smashing, bending, cutting and all within a millisecond ask yourself if this was the right decision. each decision made an impact on the steel’s final shape and in the end, showed how precise a creators brain has to be for a beautiful result. too often we get caught up in the digital to understand design, but sometimes we need a fire under our belts to really kick our senses into shape.

hi andrew, i think im the exact kind of person who’d excel at this role. here’s why: - i got my first job at jpmorgan by winning their asia-wide hackathon, and i haven't stopped building since. - i built workabout nyc for a personal cause and it hit 50k users in the first 2 days. - this weekend i'm launching mochi, a desktop agent that fixes the gaps i kept hitting in current consumer agents. (and have a detailed draft of my observations and thesis of this landscape!) - i started my substack to think out loud about consumer and culture. i've written on consumer trends, brand discovery in the age of ai, neuroscience, and ai through art history: seconddraftbyrucha.substack.… - i also co-host distilled, a community of ~200 ai researchers and builders in nyc, and i'm preparing for cfa level 2. building things myself & an on ground understanding of consumer consciousness is how i see what's possible in what founders are building. tried dm-ing but your dms are closed!

i got into design because a professor told me, “someone designed your car’s armrest, shifter, even the space between your foot and pedal.” and now everytime i get into a car, i can’t help but smile.

first demo from my agent, so proud of her.
Imagine if you could know for sure that a review is from a real person and not a bot.

new aesthetic of the decade? retro futurism but instead of over indexing on wood. it over indexes on metal and stone.

and most of the time, no one would doubt that the first one is fake too.
best advice nick every told me was that if you own one real eames, you can buy a fake second one and no on will ever doubt you.

Metal effect is now available for SwiftUI. As expected, it reacts and bends when a magnet is nearby. Ready to use on libraries.dev
