@ScalableCapital
just closed my account out of the blue. 😡😡
Last week I decided to ~~betray @expo and @reactnative~~ try Swift development. Made a tiny app allowing to reskin the boring map to look like one of my favorite games. Tbh the experience was great, maplibre-react-native didn't work well for me. :(
Biggest miss: vscode didn't work well with swift.
Biggest satisfaction: xcode -> appstoreconnect is just 2 buttons.
Creating a widget was super easy, while in @expo I spent weeks trying to make them work (however, expo is investing in widgets now afaik).
Finally my first project that makes some money. I spent years making projects, this one was built in 10 minutes and I just spammed it a lot, bought some ads, getting SEO right.
Lesson learned – building is not about building, building is about selling fast and aggressive!
Visiting a wedding today, forced to help girls. Writing code in the middle of the street on my M3 MacBook. But got $55 today. 💪💪
Almost 100 in 4 days!!!
Hosted an interview with a famous German climber, Climbing World Champion, Yannick Flohé yesterday! 💪💪
Few days ago I built a project in 10 minutes. It made:
- $4 – 2 days ago
- $7 – yesterday
- $29 – today
Also having fun making reels. Spent 5 minutes today, made 10 reels. 200-20k views.
My app submission was rejected today:
> The 13-inch iPad screenshots show an iPhone device frame. Screenshots should highlight the app's core concept to help users understand the app’s functionality and value.
Rejected vs Approved versions 👇👇👇
It takes so long to go through the review. @expo does amazing job with building and uploading the app, but you still have to submit it manually and address the feedback.
Dreaming of chrome extension and Claude code agent that can communicate and automate the manual steps.
Got access to insta trials. Insanely powerful tool, you can make 100 of variations of the same reel and see how it performs, and then post the best version to your account.
To unlock:
1. Enroll to insta beta on the store
2. Click try trial
3. If doesn't work – ping support
Here is my snippet to analyze competitors on google play. Copy code, run for a competitor, feed result to chatgpt, see what are the top complaints, implement it on your app, get paid.
Let me know if you need n8n workflow to do it for you in one click!
from google_play_scraper import Sort, reviews_all
def get_reviews(app_id):
reviews = reviews_all(
app_id,
lang="en",
country="us",
sort=Sort.MOST_RELEVANT,
)
return reviews
15 minutes after nanobanana is launched I launched a bot with image generation, with payments and everything. Making money was never that easy!
Upgraded xcode to add a glass icon to my @expo projects -> they stopped building -> spent the whole night to understand that you need to manually set SWIFT_ENABLE_EXPLICIT_MODULES = NO to fix the issue.
Discounted price on the left / on the right?
Reading about SNARC effect: discounted price on the left looks event smaller: our brains map numbers left-to-right, small-to-large, so left = smaller, right = bigger. Swapping numbers to see if it changes the subscription rate.
What's everyone using to show alerts (preferably with buttons) in your RN/
@expo
apps? - Alert.alert - Custom modal / sheet - toast-message - something else? I want to make it look nice, but want to have simplicity of Alert.
