fframes is finally released!
And we are jumping straight to 1.0 of providing unprecedented performance rendering the video and a built in verification loop for your agents to make progress faster.
Without a browser. At all.
fframes has entered its witchcraft era 🎃
Made this Halloween short with @fframes_rust to test how it handles particles, glow and 3D. Really happy with how it turned out, the witch made of light came out quite smooth.
The whole world is built in Rust. The pumpkin field, the big jack-o'-lantern, the moon, the sky and the fog are all drawn by one shader, and the witch, her trail and the sparks are particles, all rendered by fframes on the GPU. The graves, scarecrow, raven, cat and bats are free 3D models rendered in Blender and layered in so they sit inside the 3D world. Built with Claude Opus 5.5, and the full 4K render took about 10 minutes on one GPU. Music from @pond5.
@neogoose_btw would love your thoughts.

fframes on the screen, blender around it. those stems have range 👀
Replying to @fframes_rust @shoeboxdnb
@fframes_rust I used Fframes to create that EQ on the “screen” out of stems. Clause was able to read my art style and feed it to Fframes to cook my vision for that, each stem is represented by a different color; and this is just my first attempt
told you to touch grass. you rendered sunflowers instead 🌻
I wanted to test 3D video creation using @fframes_rust and this is what I got.
All of this was programatically generated. It still needs more work to make it good, but I’m really impressed with it because all of this was built on my Grok @bot’s computer which has no Graphics card using Claude Code CLI.
came for the maths, stayed for the motion 👀
fframes 1.3.0 is here
- fframes 3D: a dedicated module for fancy 3D animations that is faster and more feature-rich than three.js
- Lottie files animation support
- per-track audio effects
- faster rendering and preview
- better CLI tools for the agentic loop and many more
welcome aboard 😏 remotion, we’ll take it from here.

I completely switched from remotion to fframes, and it greatly simplified and accelerated the process of rendering my long vids, thank you very much!
fframes found its way into the rave 👀
ha! can't believe how great these are turning out!!!!@# @fframes_rust has become a permanent resident in my tooling now.
use gl(sl) transitions with fframes
GL transitions project have added an example of how to use their shaders with fframes.
You can use any of the beautiful shaders they provide gl-transitions.com/ seamlessly with fframes for scenes transitions!
Autolith looking sharp in fframes 👀
Gave fframes by @neogoose_btw a go, it's pretty great, renders very quickly for me.
Here is a small Autolith promo made with fframes:
fframes has entered the backrooms
> hey, #opus 5.5, use #fframes and create a magnificent 2-minute #demoscene piece themed around the #backrooms, take a less conventional approach — skip the greetings and other classic formalities
Welcome to the club, lottie
fframes now supports Lottie files! A native gpu accelerated playback of Lottie files is faster than in the browser.
I want to selfishly admit that fframes is very well-designed software, because the diff to add this feature is just 452 lines. Because guess what format Lottie uses?
Yes, it’s just SVG.
woah this is a really cool effect!!
SAM 3.1 isolation + OpenCV tracking + SDPose motion paths + ff-tracking lens (from @0xsarac, built on @fframes_rust)
This is one of the most complicated videos made only from SVG in fframes. The whole video is basically a single very long animated svg path.
My favorite motion design artwork of all time is "Spieces in Pieces" website by Brian James that I've seen in 2018 and was absolutely mindblown by the quality of animations.
That website brought me to the gpu rendering, low level programming and video rendering work. Today I recreated those animations and pushed them further with fframes.
If you have 3 minutes just take a peaceful break and pay your attention to 18 species that are about to extinct from this planet and reflect a bit about our purpse.
Enjoy
