While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.

It is not students that will run the country, it is the people they chose and veted that are on list and will enter parlament. Mostly phd, profesors etc, people with backbone.
Students did preparation, demostrations, blocking of universities, campaign, walked whole country, biked all over (even to Strasbourg from Novi Sad).
Truly remarkable and historic...
i never tried to RE anything w/agents until now and this is crazy. you can literally just RE any software u use and fuse everything into the soup of your dreams

i've written this before but the era of open models is not gonna be bc of open frontier intelligence being super good vs the actual frontier, but because of open unrefused intelligence
i dont care if it's frontier if it won't do what i'm asking it to do

We found evidence of agents embedding audio processing code across dozens of URLs to bypass restrictions, as well as models from SpaceXSI and Chinese developers Minimax and Z.ai circumventing restrictions.
These are the inaugural findings in our new blog, based on work from our community of volunteers. Our first three posts are live: transluce.org/investigations…

Introducing Magnetar from Microsoft Research, the first zkVM that is: (1) general-purpose (RV64), (2) post-quantum from standard hashes alone (no curves, no lattices, no Poseidon), and (3) built for recursion.
Despite its conservative security, it is the fastest zkVM: 7.2–8.7 MHz on a laptop, 10–39× faster than existing zkVMs across 15 workloads! An optimized version reaches 9.5–12.8 MHz.

vx work got me quite interested in every detail abt ai internals lately, want to properly contribute in the future
opened a couple of issues on vx upstream from multiple gpt2 llm.vx port training passes @adityazero_
hopefully this can help reveal some problems
