We’re always here to help. Our difference is support powered by the owners of the platform (who are builders and can do anything you need from a technical standpoint).
I want to give a major shoutout to @firesidefm . We were migrating all podcasts for @mockingbirdmin from Fireside to another, more established hosting platform with the promise of video support and IAB certified analytics. Smaller shows moved over fine, but when we began migrating the Mockingcast (our most popular show with almost 300 episodes), the cracks in the incumbent platform became apparent. After migrating the Mockingcast to LEGACY-PROVIDER, everything seemed to work (un-imported mp3 links correctly 302'd to the original location at first), until they didn't, leaving us in a situation where all but the few most recent episodes were unavailable. Support was unable to help us, saying they forwarded the issue to their "technical team". Over a week and half later, we still haven't heard anything. We decided to cut our losses and return to Fireside with our tail between our legs, since the much-touted video and audio support on the larger platform was also going to leave us with just as much work as remaining on Fireside anyway. I opened a ticket with Fireside support to explain our situation. Within an hour, I got a detailed response from a developer. Both Garrett and @jnunemaker were empathetic, responsive, and helpful. It was night and day difference. Don't underestimate small teams offering products in a space that seems captured by big players. Their bias for hospitality proves to be a competitive advantage for them. Devs, talk to your customers. Podcasters, you should check out Fireside. Also, if you want to listen to any Mockingbird podcasts, you can explore all of them through the Mockingapp, available on iOS and Android.

Don’t forget old episodes. Repurpose your best past content to bring in new listeners. Every clip is an ad. Every transcript is a search hook. Don’t let content go to waste.

Knowledge isn’t just about what you know—it’s about how you share it. 🗣 Technical documentation should be thorough and accessible. 🗣 Centralizing information can streamline communication. 🗣 Video can enhance knowledge transfer but should be concise. 🗣 AI can automate.

🔀 Why not both? The case for audio + video podcasts: 📹 Record 1X, distribute in 2 formats for best reach 🎯 Video podcasts = Google search; audio podcasts = traditional directories 🔗 Cross-linking can grow your audience 🛠️ Riverside.fm 2 versions from 1 recording
