At the #PSMA workshop in Mozambique @SIF demonstrated how bodyworn cameras can improve inspections of FVs to detect #IUUFishing. #PSMA establishes standards for countries to ensure that illegally caught fish is not landed, transshipped, packaged, or processed in their ports.

As part of @FishFORCE training @S_I_F is providing remote support and mentoring to port inspections in Cape Town. Building capacity for effective implementation of port State measures with multi-agency teams is a critical step to #StopIllegalFishing. #PSMA #PSMSIF #IUUFishing
Bodycams are being used by inspectors in port. Remote mentoring is provided by a remote team of experts. Participants in the FishFORCE training from a range of agencies are able to watch the fishing vessel inspection in progress, providing insight into the inspection process and training on procedures and best practice.
