I started practicing my fundamentals a couple weeks ago, and I'm starting the long arduous journey of learning to draw people/figures in proper proportion. I've started this journey before, a long long time ago, and did not make it very far.

i used daily meditation #8 (from November 19, 2025) as the input image and basically cranked everything up to 11 - watching it morph from the drawing to whatever is going on here was quite the spectacle

this recording uses the same picture as well, but because of the sheer number of iterations, there's no sign of this guy. the full resolution of this one actually made me feel something, viscerally - i definitely think im on to something with a lot of potential here

the video is a recording i pulled from a custom fractal where the colors that feed it are from the attached input drawing, a digital painting i did of a guy's face

this low rez output has two variables adjusted from maximum to minimum (simultaneously): iteration magnification, and iteration rotation the shift back and forth instead of a smooth continuous motion is because im still pinning down the functions to make that work properly

going down a deep, dark rabbit hole of fractals and shaders... the biggest thing ive found out with shaders is that they are almost extra equipped for recursion, which means you can sort of plug all sorts of things into them and tap into their raw materials

I dont mean to sound like a broken record but... shaders be crazy n shit. I dabbled with shaders about 2 years ago and got so overwhelmed that I just kinda ran away from them. now the dust has settled and im exploring them again, their potential for holo patterns is boundless

Another reverse holo pattern. These little demos are an automation I wrote that basically generates a standard 6 second video without needing to do any screen recording. This is really enhancing the prototyping process.

What does meditation mean to you? For me... it means a lot of things. But underpinning all of those things is a general sense of "intentionally being mindful about the present moment" ~~ Reverse holo sierpinski triangle is a good candidate for further exploration🔼

infinite possibilities with shaders - here's a reverse holo sort of pixellated / disco ball pattern

"reverse mandlebrot set holo digital trading card" say that 10 times fast...

when i do a daily meditation, i start with a 1024x1024 pixel canvas - and then i sort of extend the canvas often based on how the digital painting proceeds organically, with little to no planning. this results in a lot of square shaped meditations, but also some other shapes.
been thinking deeply about the aesthetics and logistics of trading card games. an underlying "sport" of skill that is extensible enough to continuously expand, but also having a tactile object that is ever so fun to collect....

for example, sometimes a meditation is more of a portrait, other times more of a landscape. the art fits nicely on the card in most cases, but the portraits fit in a way that makes more sense to have them be a "full art" card, and anyone who collects cards knows what that means!

holographic rares! check out daily meditation #6 but in "digital replication card form" with a whole bunch of holograph effects. very satisfying to look at.
