People build with design systems.
Agents build with design genomes.
Flash turns yours into one your agents can actually read. Change one token, everything moves.

Five hex codes. One brand blue. Which one is right?
Figma, code, the token file, Storybook, and the docs each say something slightly different. People ask in Slack. An agent can’t. It guesses.
Where does your team’s real version live?
So we have design systems to help designers and developers speak the same language.
Yet designers still hand off Figma files for developers to interpret, and teams still catch drift after shipping.
The system exists. But why isn't it doing enough of the communicating?

🧵 The moment we realized design systems were broken
We've been watching design systems fail for a year.
Built Flash to fix it.
Here's what we learned 👇

Why? Figma isn't built to be a system. It's built to draw.
A "system" is math:
- Color scales (functions, not values)
- Type ratios (not random sizes)
- Spacing patterns (not ad-hoc)
You can't draw math in Figma.

We built Flash DSM because "set up the design system" should not be a Q3 project. One prompt in. Color, type, spacing, motion and components out, about a minute later. Real tokens your code can trust.

Consistency isn't discipline. It's physics. When every component pulls from the same tokens, drifting is harder than matching. Flash DS ships the whole system pre-wired, light and dark included, from the first minute.

Canvas tools draw pictures of design systems. Then teams reverse-engineer the system underneath and ship code that never quite matches the picture.
Flash flips the order: build the system first, in real code, then design inside constraints that actually exist.

9/ Shoutout to @paultrillo - he's been using DALL-E in fascinating ways and he inspired me to start experimenting with trying to get DALL-E to work for video

AI fashion show using dall-e to generate hundreds of outfits of the day after tomorrow. An interesting way to brainstorm costume and fashion design ideas.

1/ Using AI to generate fashion
After a bunch of experimentation I finally got DALL-E to work for video by combining it with a few other AI tools
