More than 40 percent of #postdocs leave academia. Those who landed a coveted faculty position were more likely to have had a highly cited paper, changed their research topic between their #PhD and postdoc, or moved abroad after receiving their doctorate. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24… @PNASNews -> nature.com/articles/d41586-0… #ScienceCareer

📣 now for the good news: I started my first „real“ job today and will work on software solutions for data-driven problems in logistics (and possibly elsewhere). My first impression is really good 🙂. Let’s see how it goes ✌️
📣 Sad news: After 8 incredibly exciting years, I have paused my academic career with the beginning of this year. Tomorrow, I will start a new professional life in industry. Wish me luck! Also, this is not my last tweet as there are some remaining projects in the pipeline 🙂

I should add that I also officially moved back to Berlin with the beginning of the year. We will likely stay for a while. Please say hi if you are in town 👋

Join the dark side of the forces (or not!). TL;DR - Using forces that are not conservative is not a great idea. Latest and greatest, now on the @arxiv , from Filippo Bigi and @marceldotsci.
