🏡 12 TYPES OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES YOU SHOULD KNOW IN NIGERIA
Not all houses are built the same way. In Nigeria's real estate market, you'll come across different types of residential properties, each with its own structure, features and purpose.
Whether you're planning to buy, rent, build or invest in real estate, understanding these property types is important.
Let's explore 12 common types of residential properties:
1. Detached House: A standalone building that occupies its own space within a compound. It doesn't share walls with another house. It usually offers more privacy and outdoor space.
2. Semi-Detached House: Two separate residential houses built side by side and connected by a common wall. Each house usually has its own entrance and facilities.
3. Terraced House: A row of houses built side by side, sharing walls with neighbouring units. They usually have separate entrances and may share a common estate environment.
4. Bungalow: A house built mainly on one floor, with all major rooms located on the same level. It is popular among families who prefer easy movement without climbing stairs.
5. Duplex: A residential house built on two floors, usually comprising a ground floor and an upper floor. Bedrooms are often upstairs, while the living room, kitchen and guest facilities are downstairs.
6. Flat/Apartment: A self-contained residential unit within a larger building. It typically has its own bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Examples include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats.
7. Block of Flats: A single building containing several independent residential units, often arranged on different floors. Each flat can be rented or sold separately, depending on the ownership arrangement.
8. Maisonette: A residential apartment spread across two or more floors, with an internal staircase connecting the different levels. It offers a house-like living arrangement within a larger building.
9. Penthouse: A premium residential apartment located on the top floor of a multi-storey building. It may feature spacious rooms, private terraces, better views and luxury fittings.
10. Studio Apartment: A compact self-contained unit where the bedroom, sitting area and sometimes the kitchen occupy one open space, with the bathroom separated. It is suitable for individuals who prefer smaller living spaces.
11. Townhouse: A multi-storey house that forms part of a development of similar houses, usually sharing side walls. Many modern Nigerian estates feature townhouses with dedicated parking and shared security.
12. Mansion: A large, high-end residential property with extensive living space, multiple bedrooms, spacious compounds and luxury features. It is commonly associated with premium residential neighbourhoods.
📌 WHY SHOULD YOU KNOW THESE PROPERTY TYPES?
Understanding the different types of residential properties helps you:
- Make informed decisions when buying or renting.
- Know the kind of property that suits your budget and lifestyle.
- Understand property descriptions when dealing with real estate agents.
- Make better real estate investment decisions.
Remember, buying a property is a major financial commitment. Don't just fall in love with the appearance of a building; understand the property type, its features, location and value.
Real estate knowledge is the first step towards making smarter property decisions. 🏡

I keep saying this: whatever works for you, works!
I'm not here to criticize anyone's strategy or tell you how to trade. If your approach is consistent and putting money in your pocket, you're good.
There's no formular in trading. Find what works for you and stick to it.

Trading is a psychological game.
The market doesn’t care about your entry, your losses, or your expectations. You’re not fighting the market. You’re fighting your own fear, greed, impatience, and lack of discipline.
The hardest opponent you’ll ever face in trading is yourself.

Good evening, everyone ❤️🌙
I hope today gave you at least one reason to smile.
Whatever didn't go as planned, don't carry all that stress into tonight. Rest, recharge, and next week we go again.
Have a peaceful evening, guys. 🫶🏽
I really want to make it in life. I want success, financial freedom, and the ability to give myself a better life.
But I also don't want to lose myself in the process.
I want to enjoy life, have peace of mind, laugh, rest, and appreciate the little things too.
We're chasing big dreams, but let's not forget to live along the way. ❤️

Good night, everyone!
Have a beautiful weekend. Make time to touch some grass, step away from the usual routine, and reward yourself when you deserve it.
And if a little punishment is what you need for the lessons you haven't learned, take that too with grace. 😂
Whatever the weekend brings, be kind to yourself.
Rest well, and have a lovely night.
