An aircraft door reportedly opened in flight. A medical emergency forced a diversion to Dhaka, where a patient died. Two serious events, one flight. What exactly happened, and were they connected? A transparent investigation is essential. Aviation safety depends on facts, not assumptions. youtu.be/YTmxL_UnDdw The incident details and any causal connection remain unverified. The wording avoids attributing the death to the door opening. @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia

Two #Echolac suitcases of the same model, purchased in Bahrain, have the same defect: one wheel sinks into the body during normal wheeling. @Jashanmal accepted the suitcase without shell damage but refused to inspect the other because its wheel housing had cracked. Could the crack be caused by the same defect? I request a technical inspection and written explanation. #ConsumerRights

FRMS is not a shortcut around prescriptive fatigue rules. The guidance is clear: before permitting FRMS, a State must first have robust, scientifically based prescriptive fatigue limits, effective SMS processes and a well-trained inspectorate capable of oversight. If @DGCAIndia has not yet fully implemented and demonstrated effective oversight of its prescriptive fatigue regime, introducing FRMS would be putting the cart before the horse. FRMS is a privilege built on a mature fatigue-management system — not a substitute for one. @MoCA_GoI @icao

After 3 years #AAIB releases the accident report. AAIB says DGCA failed to spot problems at VSR. But its own report also leaves basic questions unanswered: one engine had 872 more logged hours than the aircraft, yet its history is not explained; mandatory stall training was marked “N/A”; and the report’s glide-path analysis conflicts with the recorded flight data. If you question someone else’s oversight, your own investigation must withstand the same scrutiny. Pot calling the kettle black? @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia #AAIB #VTDBL

Can a 737 survive that dive, G and Mach? History says airliners are tougher than the limits suggest. TWA 841, B727, 1979: FL390 → 5,000 ft in ~63 s, M0.96, 6.0 g pull-out. Design limit: 2.5 g. It landed safely. libraryonline.erau.edu/onlin… #FZ1073 #FlyDubai #B737 #CaptSmit #Smit

The flydubai #FZ1073 incident was a Grey Rhino, not a Black Swan. Officials say the first officer was grounded by Oman Air as a security risk in 2024. Two airlines later, he was in a cockpit. Someone knew. The system had no way to pass it on. safetymatters.co.in/not-a-bl… @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia @icao

The Israeli passengers fought back when the FlyDubai cockpit was attacked - and aviation safety expert Captain Amit Singh says their preparedness may have helped save the aircraft. But there is another, bigger question: aviation had already identified the “insider threat” years ago. In 2022, ICAO issued an Insider Threat Toolkit warning that the threat can come from people already inside the aviation system - including pilots, cabin crew and ground staff. So why was the system unprepared? #flydubai #aviationsafety #aviationsecurity #insiderthreat #aviationnews #israel #telaviv #terrorthreat #cockpitsecurity #aviation Watch the full video here 🔗 youtu.be/asBoESPZNgw?si=lLpm… @flyingamit @ananyadg

“Rogue pilots” are the easy headline. The harder truth is a system that keeps failing to police the people behind the security curtain. Passengers surrender water bottles, shoes and privacy—while thousands of badge-holders can access aircraft, baggage, fuel and restricted areas every day. Insider threats are not hypothetical. Aviation has already seen bombs, smuggling, sabotage and security breaches enabled from within. In 2022 ICAO issued an Insider Threat Toolkit but it wans't mandatory, just a guidance . It was never implemented by states and look at the outcome. My argument in today’s Times of India: Safety manuals are useless without enforcement, funding, vetting, reporting protection and accountability. The next catastrophe may not begin at the passenger checkpoint. @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia @icao @toi #AviationSafety #InsiderThreat #FlightSafety #Security #AirlineSafety #HumanFactors #SafetyMatters #FZ1073 #FlyDubai #Smit #CaptainSmit #CaptSmit

Israel’s AIP §5.2.1 pertaining to Security Clearance of Pilots, explicitly applies to foreign-licensed pilots on “general aviation (non-commercial)” flights. It does not establish the same individual clearance requirement for scheduled airlines such as flydubai. #FZ1073 #Smit #FlyDubai

🚨 FZ1073: The initial squawk did not convey the insider attack. Switching to 7700 signalled a Distress Signal-general emergency—not its cause. Approaching Jordan, Amman ATC would be expected to seek details. At 05:35 UTC, the squawk changed to 7500: UNLAWFUL INTERFERENCE. Near the Saudi–Jordan border, a flight emergency had become an explicit security alert. Israeli fighters reportedly scrambled. The aircraft later turned back toward Tabuk. What prompted the code change? ATC recordings are key. #FZ1073 #AviationSafety #CaptSmit

This frame matters. 🔴➡️🟢 On #FZ1073, seven ceiling lights go from OFF to ON in a tenth of a second. On a 737 MAX that takes a crew switch, or lost power. Which one? The FDR will say. #Smit #CaptSmit #CaptAmit #AviationSafety

30 seconds to disaster. FDB1073, 30 Sep: from FL340 the aircraft lost 14,300 ft in 37 s, an average of 23,190 ft/min (ADS-B). At that rate, terrain was 82 s away. The crew arrested the dive at 16,600 ft with about 37 s in hand, and later landed safely at Tabuk. Red is the path not taken. @themojostory @TimesNow
