My take from a housing perspective: further financial commitment to boost housing is welcome, housing helps to deliver economic growth we need. However the sector faces unprecedented financial and regulatory pressures which this Budget fails to address.

🔵 MAIDSTONE & MALLING: two more contenders, I hear, are Matt Boughton, the leader of Tonbridge and Malling borough council; & Mario Creatura, former Downing Street special adviser under Theresa May, who fought Croydon Central, 2019.
🔵 MAIDSTONE & MALLING: the selection is now under way to replace Helen Grant who has announced she'll stand down at the next election. Two of the main contenders, it seems, are David Thompson, the chair of the local Conservative association; and Neil Mahapatra, who fought Tunbridge Wells in 2024. Please DM me if you know more.

The ITV panel descended into chaos on Friday during a fiery debate about Keir Starmer’s leadership and whether he should call a general election.
Gloria argued the British public are fed up with Labour and desperately want change.
Kaye Adams hit back, insisting the country actually wants stability and that voters can simply remove them at the next election.
When Kaye repeatedly talked over her, Gloria visibly lost patience and fumed: “Kaye, just give me one second for goodness sake to speak. I sound like a politician!”
Judi Love joked the panel had turned into Parliament.
