What a difference! Our volunteers have truly transformed Queen Mary's boat deck. Over a year of hard work by the team. Thanks to @DalesMarine1 for the excellent work repainting the starboard side.

Recently our volunteers have: finished the installation of new bilge pumps, removed the last cables, conduits and pipework from the lower deck, and tested the deck lighting and bilge pump operation via the ship’s generator. Our volunteers really make a difference on board!

We're delighted to recognise @ClowGroupLtd for generously maintaining our gangways free of charge. This year, the team will carry out the 5-yearly load test certification and repairs entirely free of charge! This is partnership at its best. #CorporatePartnership #TSQueenMary
Today we are celebrating our incredible volunteers who sorte and moved 40 tonnes of Burmese teak, taken from TS Queen Mary when we installed her steel decks.
They sorted through all 40 tonnes, stacking quality timber for re-use and setting aside some for upcycling as souvenirs.
This was back-breaking, months-long effort and we are indebted to the team of volunteers for undertaking the task. If you have a few hours to spare and want to be part of preserving Scotland's maritime heritage, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteer opportunities range from hands-on restoration work aboard the ship, to Admin support in the office. We won’t ask you to move any timber …! Get in touch to find out how you can help by emailing [email protected].
A. Alexander & Son Electrical Ltd has very kindly donated and installed new security floodlighting aboard TS Queen Mary. This will enhance the safety and security of the ship, our volunteers and visitors.

We were delighted to be invited by @DalesMarine1 to their hospitality afternoon at the @tallshipsabdn event.
We are looking forward to TS Queen Mary’s next trip “doon the watter” to complete the necessary structural steelwork repairs.
Our volunteers have been working hard coating TS Queen Mary's steel decks. The new top coat makes an incredible visual difference to the plates (provided by @TataSteelUK). Very grateful to @AkzoNobel for donating the pint coatings and to @Aggreko for the on-shore power solution.

We were honoured to participate in The Princess Royal's Charities Forum, hosted at Buckingham Palace in advance of Her Royal Highness' 75th birthday.
Her Royal Highness' keynote address brought an inspirational day to a close.

Our volunteers have taken advantage of the good weather and have been hard at work painting TS Queen Mary's new steel decks. Each plate takes 1 hour to prepare and paint, and there are 53 to go on the boat deck!

We have been spring cleaning on board Queen Mary! Work has included sweeping up, changing ropes, new gangway winch, new lighting, new extinguishers, new CCTV, new handrails inside, and - of course - lots of painting! We are grateful to @AkzoNobel for donating the new coatings.

We are delighted that @BAESystemsplc has donated six welding machines. They have been used to weld 128 new plates, covering almost 1,200m2, helping to make Queen Mary watertight for the first time since she was rescued by the Charity in 2015.
