I'm pretty sure that's not what the concept of labor exploitation explains
It’s funny how western leftists seem amazed at features of Asian societies as public infrastructure that is quickly repaired or public transportation that is always on time without seeming to realize that the secret sauce is worker exploitation

The unreality is US academia is playing legitimation games that it alone is playing. They worked in "the good old days," the golden era of US supremacy, but they haven't worked in some time. The collapse of liberal democracy makes such games increasingly irrelevant.

The liberal arts (cultural apparatus) and liberal democracy (political apparatus) supported one another. They are falling together.

"Quiet, haunting, and confounding, this sci-fi graphic novel asks readers to think about how humanity will be defined without the story deciding for them." — @ALA_Booklist Identical by Leah Hayes is out today! ow.ly/wrC850ZNZOP

They're saying philosophy is about feeling good and appreciating beauty. Nothing is said about its truth value.
Why is philosophy thriving at Harvard amid generally low humanities enrollments

Wrong the billionaire is working billions of times harder than the rest of us
El-Sayed: "I thought you were for the common man. If you're with billionaires, we disagree." Watters: "I'm entitled to the fruits of my own labor." El-Sayed: "Billionaires don't make money from their labor. They make money from their money."

To claim a place in an "intellectual tradition" is to assume a whole host of hang ups, traumas, neuroses, and obsessions that you totally asked for. Against tradition.

Right but the primary purpose of precheck, etc. is not saving time. You're paying to feel slightly superior with respect to the infinite grades of hierarchy among the customers/consumers.
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson refuses to pay for PreCheck because skipping the line won’t make the plane land any sooner “I’m not getting that PreCheck, I'm not paying for that sh*t. I have no problem standing in line.” “I can stand in line with everybody else.” “Cause when we get to the gate, even if you get through security before me, you still have to wait in line.” “You board the plane before me. We still get off the same plane. We still land at the same goddamn time.”
