18 YEARS AGO TODAY. 🖤 September 3, 2008, Sons of Anarchy premiered on FX to 2.53 million viewers. 18 years later, new fans are still pressing play on Episode One, while OGs continue finding their way back to Charming. We really do love this little universe of ours. ♥️🥃

When Michael Hayes cut a promo & had the entire crowd in the palm of his hand. Edge: lost it & then brings up about Hayes' dead friend, Terry Gordy. Hayes: “You son of a BITCH! The only reason you got this show is bcoz you've been BANGING Matt Hardy's ex-girlfriend.” 💀😭

Cameraman Stew talking about John Cena: "Well, he's a good man. He really is good from top to bottom, all the way through. And that's a rarity. You've gotta love the man. He's a great guy. What can you say?"

🐐@JohnCena John, you epitomize one of my favorite quotes, "it's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice". Congratulations on your historic and extraordinary @wwe career, my triend. Have fun, tear it down, and as always, "thank you for the house" 🥃

We lost a legend today. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa @CHTOfficial played Shang Tsung in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film and sadly passed away at age 75. We had the privilege of his portrayal on the first MK film but also as an amazing voice actor in the Mortal Kombat 11 game. Cary was one of a kind. He combined danger, swagger and athleticism to his roles and will always be remembered as the man who first brought Shang Tsung to life on film. Rest in Peace. Your soul is eternal. #MortalKombat

In the 1990s, Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) reached fans across the United States through late-night syndicated broadcasts. Many of these shows aired at 2 or 3 a.m. on regional sports networks, and fans stayed up to watch despite the late hours. In the Northeast, ECW programming was carried on SportsChannel Philadelphia and other SportsChannel affiliates. In Florida, fans could watch on the Sunshine Network, which helped expand the promotion’s reach into the Southeast. Similar late-night time slots appeared in other regions, giving ECW exposure outside its base in Philadelphia. The company’s broadcasts featured matches that emphasized weapons, tables, and a presentation different from WWF and WCW. While ECW’s national visibility was limited, its presence on regional networks created strong followings in key markets. Joey Styles was the voice of ECW during these broadcasts. Working solo on commentary, he provided both play-by-play and color analysis, and his exclamation “Oh my God!” became one of the promotion’s trademarks. Through these television deals, along with tape trading and word of mouth, ECW gained a dedicated fanbase. By the late 1990s, wrestlers such as Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Taz, and The Dudley Boyz had become recognizable names to fans who stayed up for ECW’s late-night broadcasts.
