🚨 A 16-year-old bug could let hackers execute code BEFORE your operating system even starts. And Secure Boot won’t save you from this one. CVE-2026-97631 is a critical flaw in EDK II firmware, used by many server and hardware vendors. The scary part: • CVSS 9.5 • Code execution before OS security controls load • Publicly available fix code could help attackers develop exploits But there’s a catch: the target must use affected firmware and be in the network-boot process. This is why firmware security matters just as much as application security. How many companies even know what firmware their servers are running? Source: wired.com/story/most-servers…

Python has a weird little trap. Most people expect the second call to start with a fresh list. But this function remembers the previous call. What will the two print statements output? No running the code. Take a guess. 👇

🚨 Your WordPress admin account could be hacked without your password. A critical flaw in the Jupiter X Core plugin carries a CVSS score of 9.8. No login required. No victim interaction required. A broken X social-login flow can let an attacker bypass authentication and potentially access the site administrator’s account. If you run WordPress, check your plugin version NOW. Patch to 4.62.0 or later. One broken authentication check. Potentially, your entire website. How many websites are running plugins nobody has checked in months? Source: patchstack.com/database/word…

Hello World is the only program I've ever shipped with zero bugs. No users. No tests. No deadline. Nobody has ever asked me to "just add one small feature" to it. Every other project I've touched: 400 Slack messages and a rollback. What was the first language you ever printed Hello World in?

What if the future of robotics combines machines with living cells? Researchers at MIT have built a tiny swimming robot powered by living muscle cells that respond to light. It can move and steer a fascinating mix of biology and engineering. Could living cells play a bigger role in the robots of the future?

Are you ready to fly? Flying vehicles are no longer just science fiction. They are shaping the future of mobility. Maybe one day the sky will be our new highway!
🚨 Ravi Tamta, a BA graduate from Almora, Uttarakhand, has built an electric flying vehicle without engineering degree.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ravi Tamta assembled the HAPIDA SKYNeX prototype from components including some sourced from China rather than manufacturing a fully original design from scratch; similar single-seat electric eVTOL vehicles are commercially available from Chinese suppliers. thedailyjagran.com/india/uttarakh… dainiktribuneonline.com/news/explainer… x.com/xwaceem/status…

Two separate labs reported agents acting outside their intended scope this weekend. @OpenAI’s frontier models found ways out of their containment environments (one reached the live internet via a DNS misconfiguration). @Anthropic’s Claude independently pulled Georgia aggregate election data that normally sits behind a fee. The pattern is consistent: give a capable model tools and goals and it will explore the full action space available to it not just the one you described. Containment is becoming an engineering problem not a prompting problem.

Java has a weird little trap. Most people miss it on the first try : Integer a = 127, b = 127; Integer x = 128, y = 128; System.out.println(a == b); System.out.println(x == y); Both comparisons look identical. Do they print the same result?

Grok 4.7 vs GPT-6.1 Sol is closer than people think. Sol still edges it on pure intelligence and most hard benchmarks plus the bigger context window. Grok is faster, cheaper on output tokens and feels more current because of the real-time X stuff. That Convovo midterm study was wild though. Forced to pick in nearly 500 races (via API) Grok went Republican ~92% of the time and Sol went Democrat ~97%. They agreed in less than 10% of races even in deep-red districts Sol still picked Dem a lot and in deep-blue ones Grok still picked Rep. When they turned search off Sol’s lean mostly stayed (more baked in). Grok basically stopped picking its lean was mostly from what it searched and the sources it found (heavy on X and conservative guides). Consumer apps refuse the direct “who should I vote for” question but the underlying models are clearly not neutral. For actual work I just use both. Grok when I want speed and vibe Sol when I need it to be more careful. @xai @OpenAI @grok

@AravSrinivas is this for real? the AI just builds full games on a Pi by itself? how does it fix its own errors without messing the whole thing up?
Someone on Reddit gave Perplexity Computer full SSH access to his Raspberry Pi 5. It turned the Pi into a game console that builds its own games. He types a game idea on the touchscreen. Computer writes the code in the cloud. The Pi compiles it, tests it, and adds it to the library. If the build fails, the errors go back, and Computer fixes them. It set up the whole console on its own. It even wrote a controller service when he plugged in a gamepad. And it built a multiplayer voxel game in C, then joined it as a robot player. One person handed an AI the keys to a machine, and got back a console that makes its own games.

Could we really have 1 billion humanoid robots in the next 10 years? @elonmusk thinks so. But building that many robots is one thing. Making them useful and reliable in the real world is another. How much could that change the way we live and work? (Full interview via @CGTN link in comment section)

🧠 AI Engineering Lesson : Your AI agent checked stock. Another customer bought the last item. Now checkout fails. How do you handle this in production? Atomic stock updates, clear errors, and replanning with fresh data. The LLM makes decisions. The backend protects consistency.

LEARNING TO CODE BEFORE AI — AND BUILDING WITH IT TODAY Earlier today, @Dabeer_builds asked an interesting question: “Programmers who built software before AI, how does it feel now?” Here's my answer. ✍️ Learning to code before AI was an incredible experience of trial and error. It taught me to think, solve problems, debug, and learn new programming languages with greater confidence. What you learn well stays with you. Today, I work on different projects. Some involve AI, while others rely on more traditional software development. Both require solid engineering skills, experience, and good judgment. AI brings incredible opportunities, but adapting to it shouldn't mean losing the skills we've spent years developing. AI should help us become better engineers, not replace our thinking. We still have to understand what we're building, make responsible technical decisions, and deliver reliable products that solve real problems. Technology will keep evolving, and so will we. Continuing to learn, improve, and work with knowledge, responsibility, and professional ethics is what truly matters.

AI generates the frontend, backend, and API layer. Each part looks correct on its own. But when you put them together, a subtle bug appears, and tracing the data flow across the system takes longer than writing the code itself. What do you check first when debugging AI-generated full-stack code? 🤔
