🇵🇾 Chaos on the streets as Paraguay’s largest digital bank collapses
Nearly 3 million customers affected as the country faces a major political and financial crisis.
Paraguay’s Central Bank (BCP) seized Ueno Bank, the country's largest digital lender, after its solvency ratio collapsed to less than half the legal limit.
Central Bank President Carlos Carvallo resigned at the request of President Santiago Peña. Carvallo previously chaired the finance company that evolved into Ueno Bank, drawing heavy criticism over regulatory blind spots and conflicts of interest.
The Specialized Unit for Economic Crimes and Anti-Corruption ordered the detention of eight high-level executives and figures tied to the bank, including founder and majority shareholder Miguel Vázquez and Ueno Bank President Juan Manuel Gustale.
The intervention completely froze Ueno Bank’s digital app, credit cards, and transfer capabilities. This has locked out roughly 3 million users, an estimated 60% of Paraguay's adult population, leaving many with no immediate way to access their money.
The state health and pension fund (IPS) has an estimated $380 million in public retirement funds invested in Ueno Bank.
Angry citizens, savers, and pensioners flooded the streets of the capital and gathered outside closed branches, demanding their cash and chanting for political accountability.

🚨 PARAGUAY 🇵🇾 RIOTS IN THE STREETS AFTER 3 MILLION PEOPLE GOT LOCKED OUT OF THEIR OWN MONEY
The central bank shut down Ueno Bank, one of the biggest banks in the country.
3 million customers. About 60% of all adults in Paraguay.
Salaries. Pensions. Savings. FROZEN.
No app. No cards. No ATMs.
Even $380 million of the state pension fund is stuck inside.
Covid locked people inside their homes. This locked them out of their own money.
Then it turned POLITICAL.
President Santiago Peña, the right-wing friend of Milei and Kast, was a SHAREHOLDER in Ueno's holding company until 2025.
And the man he picked to run the central bank in 2023 used to run Ueno.
Within 24 hours:
• the central bank chief signed his resignation after Peña asked for it
• Ueno's CEO handed himself in to police, 5 more executives DETAINED
• crowds in central Asunción demanding Peña's exit
• the opposition pushing to impeach him
The last time Paraguay's banks broke, in 1995, more than half of them went down.
If you want the parts of this story Paraguay's government would rather you never heard, follow me.

What’s coming was avoidable, but Republicans in Congress let Trump start a war, increase spending, arm a genocide, betray MAHA, and cover up for Epstein’s coconspirators. I was ousted with over $30 million of foreign lobby money for refusing to go along, and here we are.

The Iran war has achieved regime change in the USA.
The cost of decades of these wars has come home.
It is time the national interest replaced the international interests whose permanent war on civilisation has bankrupted the West morally and financially.

If you are pro-war on the internet I think you should be sent to go and fight that war in reality.
I'm not pro-foreign wars because I think the war is at home. That war is being waged against us all by our liberal-internationalist state.
That’s where the fight is - here in our homelands - for the life of the nation.

After this election, even before they’re sworn-in, newly minted politicians will go behind closed doors in the swamp to pick the majority leader, minority leader, whips, etc., and to nominate a Speaker.
They’ll vote for candidates who promise campaign cash, good times, good committee assignments, and subcommittee gavels. When it’s all said and done, your Representatives will also pledge their congressional voting cards to the leaders of RED team and BLUE team, who are secretly playing on the same team.
That’s how your election will get stolen. I compare these Representatives to Jack who traded the family cow for magic beans… but in this version of the story, the beans never sprout and lobbyists eat the beef.

There is no such thing as a “climate change denier.”
No one on Earth denies that climate changes over time. It's supposed to. It's a dynamic system.
There are, however, natural cycle deniers like you. 🫵

Like I've been telling people...
STAR WARS is Boomer era propaganda based on their mistaken perception of WW2.
But Lucas, despite all his flaws, was smart enough to realize that the Empire and Anakin were not depicted nearly as bad as the actual Nazis were.
Lucas knew this would lead to people actually empathizing with the Empire and Anakin.
So Lucas did this thing that shitty writers do. It's called a "Kill the Dog" moment.
It's when the storyteller makes a character (usually the antagonist) commit an act the audience will see as irredeemable, like unnecessarily killing a cute dog.
That way when the other 95% of what makes up that character actually seems reasonable to an audience with a little more life experience and appetite for nuance, the lower IQ audience members can ask how anyone could empathize with them when they committed whatever act they consider beyond redemption.
What the low IQ people don't understand is that smarter audience members can see how that one scene was force-fed out of left field just to supplement the otherwise insufficient worldview of the storyteller.

I’ve never told any trans person what they ‘should be.’ As far as I’m concerned, trans people can call themselves whatever they like and believe whatever they like about themselves. What trans people aren’t entitled to is universal agreement that they’ve changed sex, acclaim for their embodiment of sex stereotypes, the reconfiguration of laws around an objective untruth or women’s surrender of their sex-based rights.

Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. “Bibi calls Trump about it every day,” says an informed observer.
Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war.
To that end, he’s applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war they’ve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu’s lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha.
The rest of America’s longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They won’t recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people.
And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final.
We’ve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten America’s nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called “battlefield nukes” easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now we’re on the brink of it.
Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, he’s hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made.
They’re right, though it won’t be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making.
One group that hasn’t been consulted so far is the global population — the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.

I have never denied that people who call themselves trans exist and in the UK, they rightly have exactly the same rights as every other citizen. What you want is for women to lose their sex-based rights to accommodate men who say they're women. That's the conflict.

Ludwig von Mises is probably the best economist / philosopher of the German speaking world. However, precisely because he destroyed the leftist illusions, he was never popular. In today’s Germany, there are exactly zero public streets and places named after him. For comparison, 391 are named after Karl Marx.
Ludwig von Mises built the intellectual case against central planning so thoroughly that his critics never actually refuted it. They ignored it, mocked it, then watched the Soviet Union collapse in 1991, confirming every word.
His 1920 paper on socialist calculation cut to the bone: without private property and genuine price signals, planners fly blind. Prices carry information no committee can replicate. Kill the market, kill the signal, and you get Soviet bread lines and Venezuelan grocery shelves stripped bare.
Mises lived this. He fled Vienna in 1940 with the Nazis closing in, arrived in New York nearly broke, and rebuilt his career at NYU largely without a paid faculty position. The establishment academia of his era dismissed him because he made their Keynesian comfort too expensive to keep.
Human Action, published in 1949, remains the most comprehensive defense of individual liberty and market order ever written. You live inside an economy shaped by bad ideas Mises systematically destroyed, but nobody told you.

Ko smo se odločali za vstop v EU, si ni nihče predstavljal, da bo v kaki njeni članici in uniji nasploh mogoče brez posledic:
1. Razveljaviti predsedniške volitve (Romunija);
2. Ukiniti informativni program na nacionalni RTV (Madžarska);
3. Poslati policijo na Ustavno sodišče (Poljska);
4. Tri tedne pred volitvami poslati v zapor predsednika stranke, ki vodi v anketah (Slovenija);
5. Zasesti nacionalno RTV s policijo in zamenjati vodstvo (Poljska);
6. Prekiniti mandate vodstvu nacionalne RTV in izvesti čistko zaposlenih (Slovenija);
7. Poslati v zapor člane prejšnje vlade brez možnosti obrambe (Madžarska);
8. Podeliti skoraj milijon državljanstev ilegalnim migrantom po hitrem postopku (Španija);
9. Zapreti novo Nuklearno elektrarno in zgraditi plinovod do Rusije (Nemčija);
