As a mother of a young #teen, I deeply appreciated this nuanced piece on the impact of #socialmedia on #mentalhealth in teens. If only all journalism were this balanced! Tx @voxdotcom @EricLevitz

I highly recommend this outstanding course on science communication by @KristinSainani at @Stanford on @coursera
Some of my fave tips:
🌟Focus on clarity first and foremost

Great take on doing our part to boost the integrity of the scientific literature.
Science is littered with zombie studies. Here’s how to stop their spread. thehill.com/opinion/educatio…
"Why aren't you more open to alternative medicine?"
I love this response from @DrJenGunter .
She frames the question more aptly: “why can’t you be more open-minded to unstudied and under-studied therapies?”. My vote is for #evidencebased therapies!

It's easy to take science communication for granted - until you try it! I'm lucky if I get a post done in 3 hours...
One more reason to show some love to your fave science communicator, whoever that is. I'm a writer and a fan at @DearPandemic but am also a fan of many others.

You may need to eat a little (at most 10-20%) more, but even that might not be true with some isolated or concentrated proteins... 😉
Replying to @StanfordMedAlum

I really appreciated this article on #breastcancer #screening #mammography. It cuts to the heart of the debate. There is no one perfect set of screening guidelines because of different views on risk vs benefits, and disconnects between individual and population level.

What's up with aspartame? How much should you worry about the cancer risk? Short answer: not much.

🤔Are diet and excercise the only "right" ways for a person with #obesity to lose weight? Is it "cheating" to use other options, like medications or surgery?
If you answered yes, I encourage you to learn about obesity from a trained professional.
NB: Every case is unique!
