Just been shopping on shields road, Byker, Newcastle. In Greggs. Two rough lads come in start stealing. Staff have to take things off them. Greggs shouldn't be putting their staff in this situation. Greggs you need a security guard not just for your staff but customers. Shields

Road is one of the roughest streets in the city. You shouldn't be allowing staff and customers being put in this dangerous situation.

Baxter's French onion soup be good for your emergency cupboard. I don't know if I am imagining this but as a boy I seem to remember you could by french onion soup mix in a packet....???

Why spend a fortune going to London to (maybe) see the Bayeux Tapestry when you can see both the handrawn, lifesize Geordie copy plus the contemporary Ta-pastry of a Geordie conqueror (@GreggsOfficial) at the Great North Museum in Newcastle, for free! northeastmuseums.org.uk/grea…

Oct 26: Feast of Eata (†686), bishop of Hagustaldes ham (Hexham). Educated by Aidan, he became a monk, and eventually abbot, at Mailros (Melrose). Tenures as abbot of Lindisfarne and bishop of Bernicia also preceded his time at Hexham. Tunberht succeeded him. 📸Kevin Wilbraham

He destroyed his country, maybe they want him to destroy the UN as well?
New: Sources from three countries confirm that the Trump Administration has advocated Viktor Orbán for UN Secretary-General. The US has encouraged Orbán to enter the race, even bringing him the initial idea of a joint U.S.-Russia-China candidacy. WSJ: wsj.com/opinion/viktor-orban…

Not charming at all running up this hill late for a theology or philosophy class I can tell you. When I become a despot theology departments will be at the bottom of hills 🫣😬
A few photos of Durham, charming little city, nice atmosphere.

Sweet wishing them a happy marriage
For Serbians, ousting the Russian-backed Vucic regime after its decade of looting the country is serious business, so serious that some come directly from their own wedding to cast ballots.

Some great essays here on Fr Hans Küng. Very interesting essay on justification. Might say something if I re-read it to understand more. Here a fascinating account of the reception of Küng in Russia. The public study of theology and philosophy really didn't freely exist under

Study it. They would initial it, no names and send it on to the next person and so on. Ironically Küng's writings were in Russia, in the secret libraries of the KGB and censors. Fancy having to study theology and philosophy like that. Much the same happened with psychoanalytic

Tip of the hat to anyone going to look at the north sea in a storm 😉 or otherwise the gadgie isn't alreet in the heed... I am more of sit next to the fire gadgie 🫣🤣
What happens when storm Boelo goes head to head with the incoming tide of the North Sea? Things get weird. The tide is blown away from the coast and the wind shears off the top of the waves making the sea look deceptively smooth to the horizon. #Northumberland
