The direct control any govt has over front line police is always a bit hazy. But anyone who champions being hard on crime in an election is complicit in highly trained police deciding 3 kids running is enough grounds to unleash a dog who has one purpose. rnz.co.nz/news/national/5001… – at Wellington City, New Zealand

The real divisive thing is knowing what we know about racism and then not putting measures in place to eliminate or counter it. – at Wellington City, New Zealand

The kind of neutrality I care about is where your informed / evidence based opinions don’t change just because your boss changes or the government changes. – at Wellington City, New Zealand

Okay, so I'm too impatient not to tell you this now. #CampBoomNZ is returning in 2023, and it's nine months away on November 4 & 5 so there's plenty of time for y'all to save up/create a payment plan/convince a friend to come with you. Super cute logo by @gbaker

Not to start anything but when I see analysis like this I can’t help wonder why people advocate so hard for agencies to use articles not principles. When they do this is what you get & practically its the same - if anything it is worse because it asserts itself as better/ loftier – at Auckland, New Zealand

Tho of course I’m one to talk. I advocate for all sorts of things that probably leave others wondering. Like my special cause against expensive conference with public servants giving presentations. – at Auckland, New Zealand

Jeepers. No shade to the speakers (many of whom look 👌🏽) but $2000+ for a health equity conference where most of the speakers are public servants or adjacent (eg on govt Boards) will always get a no thanks from me when I don't know where the profits are going.

I wrote this a few weeks back when hardly anyone was wearing masks despite knowing better. As I type this I’m on a ferry about to get into Picton and only people I see in masks are sitting at the same table as me. “Lol” (also this is a free read, thanks @NZDoctor_news ) – at Marlborough District, New Zealand

“…latest figures in Counties Manukau…show just under 35% of 6mo-old Māori pēpē are fully immunised.” (despite poll that says most Māori whānau want to immunise & despite rates being higher in the past).
