Group chats and texts from friends are the metrics that matter
.@alexandr_wang says modern product marketing is now all driven by the screenshot:
“To have a modern consumer product, it has to work on the screenshot. The screenshot has to fly, either through group chats or word of mouth or online.”
“Having Jolly in the screenshot immediately communicates this is a Muse screenshot.”
The discourse about dating apps are that “dating apps are the worst” and yet of the dating apps, NOBODY uses bumble 😂
After years of declining subscriber numbers and falling revenue, Bumble just agreed to a $1.3 billion acquisition.

It’s historically on the worst corner ever. They can’t make the building across from it work either
the "Just Make It Bigger Agency" strikes again!
Trying to use Uber or Lyft these days is like fishing with a fishfinder. they pretend to show you that there’s cars available but only if you keep throwing out more money (bait) to them and maybe they will pick you up lmao what a joke
Finally the right way to describe my job description
ive talked to many teams in the past few months who are thinking about this but dont know quite what to call it/have called it everything from brand marketing to comms to storytelling to special projects to content/social
4 high-profile startups in past ~2 weeks have explicitly told me they are stealthily looking to hire for someone in this sort of role
these roles are quietly and quickly exploding if your ear is to the ground!!
Fast food has to be cheap. Thats it.
McDonald's stock is down 24% year-to-date. Investors are skeptical of the company's plans, to say the least, and nothing said at Investor Day, or since, has changed their minds.
A lot can, and probably will, change between now and the end of the year. But if it holds, it will be the sixth worst year on record at the chain, and the worst since 2002. That was the year the company posted its first-ever quarterly loss, closed hundreds of restaurants and pulled Jim Cantalupo out of retirement.
Only five other times has the company's stock fallen more than 24% over the course of a full year. Here are the five worst stock price declines in company history:
1974: 48.46%
2002: 39.25%
1969: 33.91%
1973: 25.25%
1968: 25.22%
What happened in 73-74? Oil embargo. In 68-69 there was an apparent fast-food market bubble and it burst and the company faced boycotts and protests.
This shows exactly how tough a market this has been for McDonald's.

I am old enough to remember this being the weirdest thing ever when SUBWAY made a show on HULU and now every QSR has their "hot ones but for salad bowls" show archive.nytimes.com/mediadec…
Today's bad news. The Victorian Bar in Santa Monica is closing and Calamigos is converting it into a private members club? 🤦♂️
We don't need private clubs we just want to be able to drink outside on the westside.
