To beat Susan Collins in November, Democrats must nominate a progressive who will fight for the working-class, anti-war agenda that over 70% of Mainers voted for in June. That progressive is @TroyJackson207. Gen-Z for Change and @sunrisemvmt are proud to support his candidacy.

Statement from Gen-Z for Change announcing that, following the surfacing of serious allegations, Graham Platner has ended his campaign for the U.S. Senate in Maine. The statement argues that Mainers are facing an affordability crisis and rural hospital closures while criticizing Sen. Susan Collins and calling on Democrats to nominate a progressive candidate who supports a working-class, anti-war platform. It endorses Troy Jackson, describing him as a lifelong Mainer, logger from Aroostook County, and President of the Maine Senate who has fought for paid family leave, a livable wage, and workers' union protections. It also notes that his gubernatorial campaign was endorsed by Bernie Sanders, the Maine AFL-CIO, and more than 40 local labor unions. The statement concludes by calling on the Maine Democratic Party to hold an open, transparent selection process that reflects voters' demands rather than the party establishment. The intimidation campaign against progressive insurgents here in FL continues. Overnight, our 2nd venue cancelled on us. Nonetheless, we rallied, and have secured a 3rd allied space for tonight’s event. Location will be shared a few hours before the event to those RSVP’d.

🐊 “I want to remind you all that throughout this country’s 250 years, every time we have been faced with oppression, we have matched it with resistance.” Introduced by Rep. Rashida Tlaib at the “Chomp the Oligarchy” rally, U.S. Senate candidate Angie Nixon traced a history of resistance from slavery and labor exploitation to the civil rights and women’s rights movements. Nixon contrasted Washington’s refusal to fund Medicare for All, public schools, childcare, student-debt relief and free college with its spending on Trump’s billion-dollar ballroom and continued funding for Israel, a country “dropping bombs on babies” and “wiping out entire bloodlines.” “Now is the time to stand up and lock arms and not be willful accomplices in wiping out entire bloodlines,” Nixon said. “Now is the time to fight against authoritarianism. Now is the time to meet this oppression with resistance.” @AngieNixon
