Well, not only has Russia🇷🇺 sold #AbiyAhmed some of its most modern fighter jets and air defense systems, but it has also invaded #Crimea and the Donbas region of Ukraine🇺🇦 and seized territory by force, in violation of international law and #Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
On what moral grounds can #Russia claim neutrality and mediate between the two nations? I wouldn’t even consider it.
In fact, Potemkin Party🇪🇹 (PP) cadres have reportedly been heard citing #Russia’s actions in #Crimea as an example to justify their own ambitions to invade #Assab.
I believe it is time for #Eritrea🇪🇷 to pursue the opposite policy: becoming a strategic partner of the #West🇪🇺🇺🇸 and opening its doors to #Western investment. Unlike the policies pursued over the past 35 years, I genuinely believe this approach could bring long-term peace and sustainable #economic development to the #Eritrean people. 🤷♂️

Russia and Ukraine both credited the U.S. first lady with helping secure a temporary ceasefire around Russian-held Oleshky, allowing food, medicine and civilian evacuations.
Putin specifically thanked Melania for supporting the humanitarian operation.
Kyiv’s human rights commissioner also offered her “special thanks” for personally devoting time to the mission.
The truce is narrow and temporary, with fighting continuing elsewhere, including a deadly strike on a railway station in Dnipro.
Still, Melania somehow managed to get Moscow and Kyiv to agree on something.
Could a humanitarian breakthrough this small become the opening for something much bigger?

🇮🇱 Israel's police say there's NO EVIDENCE to back Netanyahu's party's claims that Arab parties STOLE the election.
No investigative evidence. No intelligence evidence. And election day actually saw relatively FEW irregularities, by past standards.
Likud had demanded an immediate criminal investigation, accusing Arab parties it says support terrorism of rigging the vote through bribery, threats, forgery and banned voter-mobilization software.
But police say they have nothing to substantiate the sweeping allegations.

I held a fruitful bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin to discuss avenues for further strengthening the longstanding relations between Ethiopia and Russia.
