Amazon just bundled AI audiobooks into the Kindle subscription. Pretty soon the ai narration will be so good that you will never need to hire a narrator. Not unless they're famous or they are ridiculously talented and have a loyal audience, a lot of them are and I have my favorites too. Apart from that 5% the rest are bots.

Readers and listeners do not care. I made an AI narration audiobook with Amazon Polly years ago and one comment was "I didn't realize she was an AI until she spelled out a letter at the very end of the book". They have no clue. And that was even before elevenlabs.
