I would hate for anyone to boo Kuch at home…I don’t think this decision was about the city or the fans. This request was an issue with JBB and management. He played well Saturday, even smiled & clearly still garnered respect from the team. He still deserves & earned our cheers

Cooper will handle this well I’m not concerned about this being a Larkin or Hellebuyck situation. I would caution fans not to make this a Booooo-cher-rov situation on Tuesday. It’s just business at this point. Negotiating tactic

I’m no insider but I gotta think The low ball offer pissed off KUCHEROV, and this is an effort to force the hand of Brisebois!? This might be Brisebois’s job on the line. The NHL is officially drunk 🤣

Pierre LeBrun: Re Nikita Kucherov trade request: Kucherov’s intention is to keep playing; I do wonder whether at some point he’ll decide to go the Dylan Larkin route and withhold his services if he wants to put more pressure on the organization - The Athletic (10/31)

Rewatching this… you can see his sadness at the end of the ovation by the fans. He’s hurting. I’d like to say it’s just money… but I honestly think it’s the lack of respect of the organization for his talent and contributions.

I do not blame Kucherov. The timing is awkward and it puts a strain on the locker room. That is my issue. Hockey is a business too. I get that. Doesn’t mean we have to like the way it goes down.
