One big mistake I made back in uni, something I wish I could go back and tell my past self, is to do more build in public. Be more active on tech twitter, launch stuff, share learnings, and build in public. In college, it’s usually hard to talk tech with friends most people just want to get placed and be done with it. In my uni, there were very few folks doing cool things on the side. I used to actively work on open-source projects but never launched them anywhere, just expecting people to somehow find them on GitHub. Once I actually started launching and sharing what I was building, everything changed I have met amazing people, had proper technical conversations, and connected with others who are genuinely passionate about building things. And not just that it opened up so many opportunities and doors. Never leaving this app !
