I hope people realize this before buying them. These have absolutely massive batteries. It makes me wonder how long it takes for the carbon reduction of driving one of these to outweigh the footprint of building the truck. I know most EVs this is 3-4 years.

The Silverado EV RST has around a 200kwh battery. At an Electrify America DCFC, the price per is $0.56. If you brought your Silverado EV to a EA DCFC completely dead, and charged it to 100%, it would cost around $110... Thats insane!

The mass of an EV has a much smaller impact on range than most people realize. Accelerating and decelerating return you to almost the same energy in your battery, because of regen. Going uphill? You’ll get a lot of it back on the way back down.

Mass does create more rolling resistance however, which hurts you all the time no matter what. Aero is one of the biggest things that hurt range. A heavy, aerodynamic EV will travel further than a light, draggy one.
