Checked the USPS site this evening to get an update on a Priority Mail I sent last week. Said it was in transit but still expected to arrive by the delivery date. Something tells me it won't make it. The deliver by date on the receipt was yesterday.

We’re learning more about the 16-year-old who opened fire at a school in Bend, Oregon earlier this month, killing three children and a teacher before an armed Good Samaritan intervened and stopped the attack.
Now, as more of the shooter’s history comes to light, one of the newest details is absolutely staggering:
Between March 2020 and October 2026, 911 dispatch received 52 calls for service associated with his family’s home.
52 calls in just over six years.
According to Deschutes County 911 dispatch records obtained by local news, those calls included a runaway juvenile, suicidal subject, domestic dispute, welfare checks, among others. The records don’t establish that the shooter himself was involved in every one of those calls.
But 52 calls associated with one household is an extraordinary amount of contact with the system.
Local news also found that his mother had 37 documented encounters with Bend Police dating back to 2013.
And that adds to what we already knew about the years leading up to the shooting.
As a child, the shooter had been placed in a specialized program for students with significant behavioral and social challenges. Investigators are also looking into his possible connections to violent online extremist groups.
Then, just two months before the shooting, his mother bought a shotgun and gave it to him for his 16th birthday. That was the gun he ultimately used in the attack.
At some point, we have to ask where the accountability lands.
Because after something horrific like this happens, the conversation almost immediately turns to another gun law. Another restriction. Another tool the government supposedly needs to prevent the next one.
But what about the tools and systems already in place?
How do you get to 52 calls to one home in six years and still end up here? No gun law fixes that. Especially in Oregon, where they have so many gun laws that even the armed Good Samaritan who stopped the shooter had to break the law to end the attack.
This is a systemic failure and an accountability problem.
We see these failures again and again, but rarely any accountability for how they happened or what needs to change to prevent the next one.
Before we start talking about what new laws millions of gun owners need to follow, I want to know where the existing system failed.

Did I miss the statement from the Pope?
At least 47 Orthodox Christians were killed in a late-night attack in Shirka Woreda, in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region, Borkena news reports. Armed groups surrounded farming families in their homes around 10:00 PM, blocked the exits, opened fire and set the houses on fire. Local sources told Borkena the attackers included local armed groups and others from the neighboring Bale Zone. Residents asked police to step in, but the outlet reports that officers did not act, saying they had no official orders. Families are now burying their dead among the ashes of their homes. Let us pray for an end to the persecution of Christians in Ethiopia.

Maya, a survivor of the tragic Tumbler Ridge shooting, received a personalized Colorado Avalanche jersey from MacKinnon, complete with a handwritten message of encouragement.
“To Maya, You’re very inspiring Maya! Keep going on your journey!”
Her family has already framed the jersey and can’t wait to hang it in her room when she’s finally out of the hospital. ❤️
Some things are bigger than hockey. What an incredible gesture from Nathan MacKinnon, and we’re all rooting for Maya to make a full recovery. 🙏❤️
Absolute class act. 👏🏒

We are moving from “illegals never vote” to “illegals vote and it isn’t a big deal” to lies about verification in California and elsewhere about whether an individual is eligible to vote as a citizen

To be clear: Overall grocery prices are up 1.8% from a year ago...a cumulative rate of 7.4% over 4 years. The cumulative increase in food prices under Pres Biden was 23.3%. As for energy, NY’s cost per kilowatt hour is twice that of the national avg.
Thanks Gov Hochul.

In a single week, Missouri produced 78,421 voter verification requests. Out of those, 23,253 matches were flagged as dead.
This must be stopped BEFORE the election. Once a stolen election is certified by the cheaters, it is too late.

Billings, Mont. (Oct. 26) — Teachers held a protest outside Billings Senior High School after the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office declined to bring felony charges against a suspected trans 18-year-old male student who attacked a teacher with a knife.
The investigation lasted nine months and has led to no accountability, making locals wonder if there is a coverup because a suspected trans person was the assailant. The student has not been officially named.

Why are Muslim socialists like Mamdani and Sayed so strongly pro-LGBT when Islam is firmly opposed to homosexuality?
Are they faking their support?

I’m still angry Trump was cheated out of 2020.
I’m still angry Kari Lake was cheated out of Arizona.
I’m still angry Spencer Pratt was cheated out of Los Angeles.
Most of all, I’m angry it keeps happening and our government won’t do anything about it.

Let's be honest about something.
Black Democrats can't even celebrate Byron Donalds and John James. Two Black men who could become Governors of Florida and Michigan. Historic. Groundbreaking. The kind of thing we supposedly all want to see.
But because they have an R next to their name? Silence. Or worse, attacks.
That's what Nicki Minaj was talking about. And she was right. Democrats are digging their own grave by telling Black people they are not ALLOWED to think for themselves. That you have to be Democrat. That if you leave the plantation, you're a sellout, an Uncle Tom, a traitor.
My opinion? That IS the real plantation.
Telling an entire race of people that you only get to be Black if you vote one way? That's not progressive. That's control. It's insulting.
Byron Donalds and John James aren't running to be Black Republican governors. They are running to be GOVERNORS. To lead states. To talk about economy, schools, crime, opportunity. And they happen to be Black conservatives who worked their way up. That should be celebrated by EVERYONE, left or right.
If you're still scared to say what you really think because you're worried some Democrat on Twitter is going to call you coon or Uncle Tom, then you are not free. You're in a mental cage they built for you.
Say what you gotta say. Think what you want to think. Vote your values, not your skin color.
That's real freedom. 🇺🇸
