I'm really honored to be representing @AvogadroChem and open chemistry in general as part of @codacy Pioneers. I'm very curious to see how we can continue to grow both #openscience as a community as well as code quality.
Introducing Our 2023 Codacy Pioneers! 🎉 First, we'd like to thank everyone who applied to participate in our inaugural Codacy Pioneers fellowship! Congratulations to our 13 fellows! Check out the link to learn more about them and their projects. tinyurl.com/454v4chw

Last year, @greensteinbri published v1 of our OPEP model for predicting the performance of organic #solar using #compchem - this is v2 and shows tandem devices can have great performance We're working on v3 soon (even bigger!) - happy to collaborate w/ both experiment and theory

Great story from @NPR this morning about the challenges for Black and Hispanic pre-med students. I see it every semester in #chemistry classes here. "I was always working, because I didn't have money and I was a work-study student." Congrats to Dr. Spigner on graduation!
I will never get over this moment in my life 🤩🙌🏾 Full article dropped this morning! npr.org/sections/health-shot…

Also, congratulations to everyone who tried but didn't win an NSF GRFP award this year! I also never won an NSF GRFP award. The important thing is that you were brave enough to put your ideas out there for review and criticism. Way to go to all the applicants this year!

Here are the big takeaways from the @IPCC_CH Synthesis Report released today. First, climate change has already caused widespread and substantial losses to almost every aspect of human life on this planet, and the impacts on future generations depend on the choices we make NOW.

This can also be a good chance if you know some younger undergrads interested in #compchem - REU and SURF summer fellowships are often targeted at rising seniors. Know a high school student or younger undergrad interested? Let them know - up to $6000 & flexible hours / projects

Okay, #compchem #ml folks - I have a vague memory of a "perspective" article within the last 10 years, suggesting areas in which computer assistance can help chemists (e.g., "Siri, suggest a solvent for this rxn").. any ideas? I'm 90% sure it was an ACS journal
