For a couple of cycles the TX Republican Party's official platform documents explicitly opposed the teaching of critical thinking skills in schools. (2010-2012 I believe.) The stated reason was that these skills were only taught to encourage kids to question their parents' faith.

In the most basic terms, it's because people who are poorly educated are easier to control.

right now my greatest hope for the world is that kodocha's ULTRA RELAX opening will become a roto/re-animation trend and everyone will doodle their Frierens and DunMeshis and whatever doing the lil goofy dance

need someone to license this ASAP Uchi no Madoushi ga Kawaisugiru! (Our Black Mage is too Cute!) by Takidon Magic student deals w/a rude student when her ability to read minds awakens and she learns he's adorably in love with her the grumpy one is soft for the sunny one hnngg
Manga panels: a dark haired boy and a light haired girl's hands touch. The boy tells her (roughly) to hurry up (and get away from him), but she can read his mind and he's thinking something to the effect of "her face is so close...i wanna kiss her" (to her consternation).

A manga page - the girl is once again touching the rude boy, and she's reading his mind...which is full of mental images of them getting married.

I'm not usually a person who picks up on this kind of thing, but I'm pretty sure the music that plays when you do the mission where you attract the condor in FFVII Rebirth is inspired by El Condor Pasa. Or at least the instrument selection... youtube.com/watch?v=WjYT5P4L…

Every December people give me (friendly) guff for not having a Spotify Rewind, but the rest of the year is people putting videos on for me to watch and me going "lol, ads" Such an underrated deal. AND you can put videos that aren't officially music tracks in your playlists.

i've been reading a lot of trash romance manga lately, so my husband just pitched me a double yandere concept that's actually really good so like, if anyone wants a concept for a shoujo romance (or josei, i'm here for your 🔞versions!) hit me up. (yeah, my husband rules.)

okay starbucks nerds, how the heck do i order a hot chocolate in the app and NOT get mocha? hot chocolate lists "mocha sauce"; if i remove it entirely i just get a cup of hot milk. there's no option to change to a chocolate flavor. ordering in person works fine. WHAT GIVES
Screenshot of the Starbucks app ordering a hot chocolate. The order options include "Mocha Sauce pump(s)" set to 4 by default.

Sooo maybe now would be a good time to casually mention that I’m roughly halfway into a years-long documentary project about the 30 year history of anime in the English speaking world? @chineysphoto is my video guy for the East coast shoots. Sooo many interviews…
