I turned by robot vacuum's mapped floor plan into a 3D environment with the help of a few iphone photos of each room.
Now I've built a "live" camera view for when the robot is cleaning, that shows a simulated feed from it's perspective as it cleans.
did a poor mans version of this last week by asking Astra to take my robot vacume’s floor plan data and then 1 iphone photo of each room.
took about 5 minutes
Worked unreasonably well, even created the 3d models of my chair, desk, baby stroller!
I have discovered the the BEST way to get 3D modeling results from LLMs
The app LiDAR scans the room while taking hundreds of high quality photos.
Then a workflow + skill I've created models out every item recursively checking the model against the photo at the exact spot + angle where the photo was captured
The result is a a dimensionally accurate and high quality model of your room
