#Gladstone #Library My favourite writing venue - 20 mins from Chester. A cross between an Oxford college library + a historic country house. I’ve written about the building & how it inspires me several times. wp.me/p5eFNn-6R5 for me it’s a sanatorium for the mind!

I love my visits to coffee shops and I am intrigued why there has been such a growth in the coffee shop culture in the area. I enjoy reading the Japanese coffee shop books. Pictured here are my 4 coffee shop visits this week: Pip&Oat, Providero, Caffeina, & Gladstone’s Library

The things you stumble across at @gladlib… William Gladstone’s axe! Or one of them, anyway.

Honestly, if you don't go here for the peace and quiet, the books, the time to read, the lovely surroundings, the great staff, the opportunity to write, the interesting history, then go for the food - it's fab!
Doesn't our Afternoon Tea look incredible in the sunshine? Every Saturday and Wednesday from 2.30pm to 3.45pm, we will serve three fabulous tiers of sweet and savoury treats alongside a pot of hot tea or coffee, to be enjoyed in our Food for Thought restaurant, or outside. 1/2

And now I commend you again to your books. Books are delightful society. If you go into a room and find it full of books...they seem to speak to you, to bid you welcome. - W.E. Gladstone (Gladstone Library @gladlib, photo by leblanc design)
