Spiderverse used ML in production which began in 2014. This tech isn't the exploitative AI generative software people are beefing about a decade later. We understand the difference between what proprietary ML was available ten years ago and the problematic AI generative software now. Things change. Different technologies come online. Different corporations get involved that have different ethical considerations. GPT-1 pretrained model didn't come out until 2018. LAION dropped 400M in 2021 and 5B in 2022. Stability didn't drop theirs until 2022. Protect and support creatives.
