Welp since Twitter is dead, it's dead to me. The new branding is too stupid for me. Will not be posting here for the time being. Mastodon: mastodon.social/@golf1052 Bluesky: bsky.app/profile/golf1052.co… I have 3 Bluesky invites, if you want a Bluesky invite message me

Very cool that there's better protection for cars taking illegal turn than for bike lanes in Seattle.

The section on Oftelie's relationship with SPD is especially damning. How can the Consent Decree Federal Monitor accurately and fairly assess if SPD is compliant if he gets command staff to ghost write editorials for him and is friends with SPD legal?

I just watched Climate Town's new video on parking minimum laws and was wondering why I haven't really seen much discussion on D3 candidate Agarwal's proposal to mandate 1 parking spot per bedroom in Seattle. Currently Seattle has 0 parking minimums for Capitol Hill.

This proposal would stop housing development in the core of the city in its tracks. Climate Town video: youtube.com/watch?v=OUNXFHpU… Seattle parking mandate map: seattle.gov/Documents/Depart…

An All-Star week reminiscence🧵by an old Seattle print hack about the last time the big game was in town in '01: I was the cops reporter for the Seattle P-I (RIP). Gil Kerlikowske was Seattle's new police chief. He was off to a rocky start & the subject of a few of my stories...

I greatly appreciate the journalists on the news side of the Seattle Times but the opinion section is so bad that I still refuse to give the paper any money. This isn't helping.

ADUs are not a solution for seattle's housing woes. they're still expensive and take up too much land. every ADU permitted is a denser housing project lost.
"Interest in building accessory dwelling units — more commonly known as ADUs — spiked across the greater Seattle area thanks largely to new regulations encouraging the construction of secondary housing units." Axios Seattle reports: bit.ly/3Dae4zX.

😌 Appreciating the bus driver who loudly honked at a driver who was blocking an intersection.

I created a Threads account for my bike account and holy shit the main feed really is just brands. This includes big name celebrities, they're just another form of brand.

I turned this into a website attentionpassengers.com

Umarell are men of retirement age who spend their time watching construction site - stereotypically with hands clasped behind their back.

940 reports It has been almost a year since the "Even Better Bike Lanes" pilot program was announced in Seattle. The data I've collected paints a serious issue. Bike lane protection isn't adequate anywhere. Nearly every lane or trail, north, downtown, or south has a report.

SDOT's post went live July 29, 2022. A few days ago I didn't think we'd hit 1,000 reports by the 1 year mark. In the last week I've added 20 reports. I'm glad there's a pilot but if SDOT wants to get serious about addressing this problem they need to seriously ramp up.
