Standing room only for our campaign headquarters kickoff this morning! 💪🏼 Thank you to everyone who came out today to show support for my re-election campaign, hear about the races shaping up across Hammond, and learn how we’re going to keep moving this great city forward! 🧵 xitter.cf/gomcdermott/status/210…
To the USW Local 7-1 union members — we are all rooting for you across The Region as you resume negotiations with BP in hopes of ending a nearly seven-month-long lockout that has affected over 800 workers. Enough is enough, BP. Let’s get this done and get everyone back to work.
Thank you NWI for the amazing turnout this week at the fundraiser I hosted for Indiana’s next SOS @BeauBayh. A veteran from a great Hoosier family with a message of unity over division — something we need in this day and age. Let’s make sure we get out and vote for Beau this Nov!
Today in Hammond, we gathered together for the 25-year observance of 9/11. Please join me in remembering the innocent lives taken that day and honoring the brave heroes who answered the call in defense of our freedom. May God bless America.
What an incredible turnout for this evening’s fundraiser I had the pleasure of hosting for Indiana’s next Secretary of State @BeauBayh. Thank you to everyone who attended — now let’s get Beau across the finish line this November!
Please join me as I host Indiana’s next Secretary of State, @BeauBayh, at Hammond’s Lost Marsh (The Emerald Green Restaurant) for a fundraiser in support of his campaign. 🧵
Beau comes from a great Indiana family with a proud tradition of public service. He’s running to bring integrity, accountability, and honest leadership back to the Secretary of State’s office after four years of controversy and corruption.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to the Hammond Sportsplex yesterday to support those in our city who have been affected by the storm by providing them with lunch and dinner.
Scores of volunteers (many of whom are still without power themselves), 🧵
Thank you, @GovBraun, for pursuing this next step that can help even more in storm recovery efforts across our state, including right here in Hammond.
I had the opportunity last night to personally thank the hardworking men and women of Hammond’s Department of Public Works and Safety—and buy them dinner as a small token of our appreciation. 🧵
Many worked long hours under challenging conditions while also dealing with storm damage in their own neighborhoods and at their own homes.
Hammond needed them, and they answered the call.
Dinner was the least we could do.
Today, I officially declared a Local Disaster Emergency for the City of Hammond following Tuesday’s devastating storm. 🧵
Our city crews and first responders have been working nonstop since the storm hit. We will continue assessing damage, clearing debris, restoring our city, and helping Hammond recover.
