How wide can a 10-year Bitcoin forecast get? @Bitwise puts 2036 anywhere from $130K to $3.6M. Kate and Brandon walk through the $1.6M base case it just raised from $1.3M.

Someone stole the key @KeystoneWallet uses to prove its devices are genuine. Kate explains why that means 18,000+ units get destroyed, and why Keystone can't vouch for anything bought after October 20.
Brandon's backup plan is the mattress.
The NYSE's owner wants to bring @HyperliquidX perps to regulated US markets, pending CFTC approval.
Kate found the reply that sums it up.
"Finally, a fully regulated way to lose your savings in an afternoon."
You get your money back, so you praise CZ's tweets.
Kate thinks that's where most people landed after the $6.3B Binance hack. They trust Binance to cover it, and a year of hacks has left them too worn out to care.
STRC now pays dividends every calendar day, starting November 1. Brandon reads it as @strategy trying to stop the sell-off around each payout, and it lands next to a $205M STRC buyback and a record $20.91B Q3 operating income.
"This is a known way that exchanges can get hacked."
Brandon ran social at BlockFi when FTX went down. SBF also said they could cover all losses, five days before freezing withdrawals.
He thinks the praise for @cz_binance is early.
18,270 BTC, seemingly on its way to North Korea.
@binance traced its $6.3B hack to one DevOps engineer's compromised laptop. Brandon notes Bitget got hit the same way at the start of October.
An estimated $6.3B is gone from @binance through one engineer's laptop, the same playbook that hit Bitget weeks earlier.
Plus the NYSE's owner wants Hyperliquid perps in the US, Keystone destroys 18,000 wallets, and Bitwise raises its 2036 target to $1.6M ↓
Today, @marshallmixing and @katemparkman dig into:
• @binance traced the hack to a compromised DevOps laptop. Estimated impact: $6.3B, deposits and withdrawals frozen, losses covered by its SAFU fund.
• @tether froze $1.5B in USDT and @circle froze $800M in USDC, but 18,270 BTC looks to be headed to North Korea.
• Brandon watched FTX fall from BlockFi and thinks it's too early to thank @cz_binance. Kate's read: people are numb from a year of hacks.
• The NYSE's owner wants @HyperliquidX perps on regulated US markets, pending CFTC approval.
• @KeystoneWallet is destroying 18,000+ devices after an attacker stole the key that proves a device is genuine.
• DataVault AI shares fell 50% after it couldn't withdraw its Bitcoin from an exchange since June. If you can't withdraw it, you don't own it.
• @strategy posted a record $20.91B Q3 operating income and moves STRC to daily dividends November 1.
• @Bitwise raised its 2036 base case to $1.6M per Bitcoin.
• Treasury tracker: @strive +6,182 BTC, @coinbase +643, and Empery Digital sold 161.

SAFU or SBF? The Binance Hack teapawt.org/i/broadcasts/1nJOLQMXp…
You already pay to heat your water.
@heatbit_com’s Bitwater element puts that electricity to work mining Bitcoin, and it screws into the electric tank you already have. Brandon’s gas heaters are out of luck for now.
After a run of hacks, giving up on self-custody can start to look reasonable.
In his open letter, @lopp argues for learning from each failure and architecting a more robust system instead.
Brandon’s version starts with multisig and an inheritance plan.
Custody fees capped at $10,000 a month however much Bitcoin you hold, plus up to $370M in insurance per client. That’s the pitch for @AnchorWatch’s new trust company.
Brandon isn’t sure anyone on the show qualifies.
Hackers got into @Railway.
Customer environment variables were exposed.
By Brandon’s count, some users were down for more than a day.
He still thinks the internet comes out of all these breaches stronger.
10% a year, with 55% volatility.
That’s the 10-year base case for Bitcoin in @JPMorganAM’s long-term capital market assumptions, the first time it’s been included. US large caps get 7.5%. Gold gets 5.5%.
Brandon can’t get over how far the bank has reversed course.
Remote code execution is about as bad as a vulnerability gets, and two critical PHP flaws patched on October 21 allow it on the language behind roughly 70% of websites. Brandon explains why the server side makes it so dangerous.
“Some claim Bitcoin tends to perform well after the McRib makes a comeback.”
That line came from @McDonalds’ own senior marketing director, @HuinGuillaume, announcing the sandwich’s 10/27 return. Brandon might grab one to celebrate.
The McRib returns 10/27, and McDonald's own marketing director tied it to Bitcoin.
Plus two critical PHP flaws, the @Railway breach that went after AI keys, and @JPMorganAM forecasting Bitcoin beating stocks and gold ↓
On this solo episode, @marshallmixing covers:
• Kate is moving across the country, so Brandon runs the show alone. She should be back next week.
• Two critical PHP flaws could let attackers run code remotely on the language behind roughly 70% of websites.
• @Railway was breached, exposing customer environment variables, including AI API keys. Next.js had its own major vulnerability too.
• @lopp's open letter says that when security controls fail, you learn from the failure and architect a more robust system. And plan for what happens to your Bitcoin if something happens to you.
• @AnchorWatch launched a trust company for whales, with custody fees capped at $10K a month and up to $370M in insurance per client, kidnapping included.
• @heatbit_com unveiled Bitwater, a heating element that mines Bitcoin inside the electric water heater you already have.
• @JPMorganAM added Bitcoin to its long-term forecasts for the first time, with a 10% compounded 10-year base case ahead of US large caps and gold.
• SoFi Earn pays 4.4% APY on a tokenized deposit with FDIC insurance, something no stablecoin can offer.
• @strive launched SATS, a preferred paying 15% annualized every business day. @strategy added 267 BTC to reach 848,517.
