If someone were to say we must mourn members of the Nazi Party who lost their lives alongside the victims of the Holocaust they’d be rightfully derided. But for Palestinians, they cannot have a moment in which their lives are not tied to their colonizers, even in death.
Zohran Mamdani: “I believe there must be room to mourn every single life. There must be room to mourn the lives of the more than 1,100 Israelis that Hamas killed three years ago. There must be room to mourn the 74K Palestinians the Israeli government had killed since. What I so appreciated about being at the vigil yesterday evening, as I had been the year before, is that it was a vigil that brought together New Yorkers to read testimonies of their own family members, of others who’ve been killed either on the day or in the genocide since and ends with a shared vision for peace and for an end to the genocide”

Genuinely not as disappointed in Mamdani as I am at all those who refuse to hold elected officials feet to the fire.
He has absolutely no incentive to deliver on the demands of the Palestine movement if we don’t relentlessly make those demands. Meanwhile, Zionist organizations are doing exactly that, applying pressure and getting more and more of what they want, while people who claim to be on the left or support Palestine tell us our strategy should be to shut up.
It’s absurd. You see that political pressure works. You see Zionist organizations using it to advance their interests. Yet somehow when Palestinians do that, in the context of a genocide no less, we’re accused of doing AIPAC’s job for them.
There is nothing Zionist organizations would like more than for the Palestine liberation movement to silence ourselves while politicians endlessly cater to their demands.
But what infuriates me even more is being lectured by Americans whose tax dollars are funding the weapons slaughtering my people. People who not only refuse to hold their own politicians accountable or do more to stop the genocide, but have the audacity to tell Palestinians to shut up about it.
You don’t get to sit comfortably in the country financing the slaughter of our people, refuse to hold your own politicians accountable, and then lecture us about how we’re allowed to resist it.

A quote from the book I Never Called It Rape by Robin Warshaw that stuck with me: “Bad judgment is not a rapable offense.”

keep thinking about this one video talking about how for someone who actually loves you, their biggest fear would be hurting you while for someone who just loves how you make them feel, their biggest fear would be losing you and yeah.

“participates” is a really strong word
U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) participates in a Senate Agriculture Committee meeting on the Agricultural Act of 2026 in the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington, DC.
