i love how unashamedly signalis wears it's inspirations on its sleeves, from silent hill 1 and 2, to neon genesis:evangelion, classic lit and music, more developers should be unafraid to show their roots and iterate on them to create something new, authentic and truly engaging

isa's death got me fucked up 😭 i loved following her little sub-plot as she searches through unknowable horror for someone/thing/time/place she can never truly return to mirroring elster and ariane the lisa garland death reference (sh1) feels meta due to the loop iteration 1/2

finished signalis, i have no words for how flawless this cutscene is, some of the most moving art ive ever witnessed... i changed my mind on the mines/nowhere, it was the high point of the survival horror: oppressive asf. i clearly got the bad ending and it felt sadly abrupt 😪

when pushing Signalis people will say it's not that scary, which is probably true relative to a lot of horror games. but tbh FOR ME the atmosphere in this game is absolutely suffocating and dreadful. For the first few hours I was so tense every time I went out of my safe room 😭
