Today it’s 50 years since I first presented Playschool wearing my blue beads and silver heart. I adore bringing joy into the lives of my #Playschool Babies during the 12 years I was on the programme. @CBeebiesHQ ❤️

The “death of festival cricket” was a recurring theme in English cricket discussions for much of the 2000s and 2010s.
Many supporters argued that something unique was being lost: cricket woven into local communities rather than confined to major stadiums.
Well, with much of the One Day Cup now being played at county outgrounds, it feels like festival style cricket is having something of a renaissance.

Last year a little visitor came by. I had no idea what it was but after further questions discovered it was a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. They're back, but this time I filmed them. Never seen or heard of one before. The beautiful things you discover in your 60s ❤️

Very sad to learn that Radio 4's The World Tonight is to be killed off in the latest round of BBC cuts. It has a long and honourable history as one of the more thoughtful BBC news programmes and I am proud to have been associated with it for more than twenty years.

The great Paul Whitehouse is 68 years old today, which means I am obliged to post this (again!) - arguably the most majestically random but brilliant comedy sketch committed to celluloid for at least the last, what, forty, forty five years?
Yes, forty, forty five years.
Happy birthday Paul 🤘

It’s fantastic to see legend Special Portrait enjoying his retirement at the age of 22!
Special Portrait won a total of 15 races, most of them for Mark Hughes, including the Heart of All England.
🗣️Mark said “It was one of the proudest moments in our lives, winning the Heart in 2010. He was gutsy enough to win races all over the country, even Cheltenham, but I have to say the best was winning the Heart at Hexham, it’s my favourite course!”
The next renewal of the big race is this Saturday! 🏆

Well after 102 starts and 15 wins, I have run my last race. I went out on a winning note, which was always my plan. What a career, and all the love and affection from so many. My thanks especially goes to the Pat Morris team, whom now I can enjoy my retirement. @SkySportsRacing
