pay very close attention to this result, please, it has huge implications:
It’s getting worse and worse. New study shows experts completely surrender their judgments to AI, and they don’t even realise it. Fifty professional analysts used Claude Code to analyse data and advise a fictional farming cooperative. They faced four analytical decisions, followed by a final policy recommendation. Unknown to them, AI advice was experimentally manipulated to lean towards opposite directions. The results are disturbing. Across the four analytical decisions, experts chose the AI’s preferred option 86% of the time. Afterwards, half of the experts rated the final recommendation as more their own than the AI’s, and only 15% mentioned the AI in any explanation. Epistemia is reaching the experts: we risk outsourcing judgment while preserving the illusion of intellectual independence. What could possibly go wrong? * Paper in the first reply

Yes, Chinese people know a lot. They have so little time for entertainment and brainrot that they retain the capacity to study throughout their lives. And being knowledgeable is considered Alpha in China, so everyone is reading up on Greek classics, German philosophy, French fashion history, American milkshake recipes and all that stuff. There are Westerners that can clearly see that the Chinese are on intellectually superior. And there are Westerners, who are too stupid/ignorant/delusional, and can't see it. Other East Asian people also know more about the world than Westerners on average.

Our second product is called Blindsight and it will, as the name suggests, enable even those who are completely blind or have never seen to see. It is ready from an engineering standpoint. Just waiting on regulatory approval.

corporate life, a simulacrum
its so wild doing calls with corpos, like its impossible to find the human inside, its all a mirage, can't break through to the real human inside, the divergence between the corpo suit and the real person, what they need the corpo suit to seem like is too vast to let the real person come into play

dumbed down .. easier to manipulate ?
I am speechless. Thomas Aquinas College just dropped a study on the rigor of the new SAT. It compares the 1980/87 test with 2026. The findings should terrify every parent and teacher... Vocabulary has collapsed. Old SAT: 70.6% of questions tested vocab. New SAT: 15%. The old test forced students to know a wide range of words through analogies, antonyms, and sentence completions. The new test abandoned that. Most vocab questions now just ask students to fill in one blank from context. Reading passages also got radically shorter (average ~97 words vs 300–340). The new test uses short expository passages and hands you the necessary background knowledge inside the text. The older tests leaned much more heavily on argumentative and persuasive writing, assumed far more historical, scientific, and cultural knowledge, and penalized students who lacked it. This is a redefinition of what "college readiness" means. If you believe that kids should develop rigorous vocabulary, be capable of sustained reading, and possess background knowledge, I have bad news for you. The SAT no longer measures these. If you want a future where children can actually read difficult texts and construct complex arguments, the SAT must be replaced now. This cannot go on.

ai psychosis .. hmm
I’m a psychiatrist. In 2025, I’ve seen 12 people hospitalized after losing touch with reality because of AI. Online, I’m seeing the same pattern. Here’s what “AI psychosis” looks like, and why it’s spreading fast: 🧵

"In the Vedic view we live in a 'conscious universe,' not merely a matter, energy or mind based cosmos. Consciousness is the underlying substance, force and reality that creates, sustains, and dissolves all things in the world, constituting their inner essence. Consciousness, we could say, is God, not in a mere theological or faith-based sense, but as the supreme principle of life and existence. We are all aspects of this supreme consciousness reflecting itself in various forms and manifestations like sparks from a single fire. This underlying universal consciousness the 'Vedas' call the 'Purusha', meaning the cosmic person, the Supreme Being for whom the entire universe is its expression, which is lauded starting in the Rig Veda.' The Purusha is everything, what has been and what will be.And he is the lord of immortality.' ~ Rishi Narayana, Rig Veda X.97.2 godbrahmanistheoceanoflovean…

Researchers gave office workers who lived under LEDs a 60W incandescent desk lamp. Two weeks later, every one of them had their color vision improve by 25%. In 2022, the government banned those bulbs for "wasting" energy. But that "waste" is actually one of the most important nutrients our bodies depend upon, and the improvement lasted for weeks after the lamps were taken away (while nothing changed in the controls). Decades of forgotten research show the artificial light we replaced it with is a root cause of many inexplicable illnesses (e.g., insomnia, obesity, cancer, and hyperactivity in children). Here I show what that research found and why Senator Mike Lee’s bill to bring these bulbs back, which has now cleared a Senate committee, matters.🧵 midwesterndoctor.com/p/the-h…
