This Week's Top FIVE Things. That's right. Only five things. Not FIVE per day. I mean, who can digest 25 things in a week? Here is my shot at bringing you what I think are the most important FIVE things that happened this week. Mostly market related. Not AI generated. That's obvious from my grammar.

Joined Jon Stewart on @weeklyshowpod to talk about the AI bubble, the massive credit risk of AI data centers, Anthropic's S-1, and how American retail investors are massively exposed to the unwinding of the AI trade. youtube.com/watch?v=3sDzlv-V…

4. Semis get Smashed. Semiconductor stocks got rocked on Friday. The semiconductor ETF $SMH was down 7%. The index includes names like Micron, Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices and Intel $INTC which was down 28% today alone.

5. $6 Billion Crypto Heist. Cryptocurrency fraud and hacks are not new. But this one broke the record for the largest cyber theft ever recorded. Maybe dollar bills under the mattress aren't that bad. Have a good weekend. Get away from the screens and go and enjoy nature or something. 😀

The playbook feels like 2002 to 2007. Most on here have no idea but that was the last great commodity cycle as tech and most everything else lagged commodities. Another thought. After the tech bubble burst it took the NASDAQ nearly 15 years to make a new high. The last 15 years we were getting a new high every few months. I don't think it will be that easy moving forward. I'm not a doomer but it's been too easy of a ride for the average joe indexer. They crushed active managers. Maybe active management actually might have an edge moving forward. Just my two cents as I contemplate positioning moving forward.

Whatever you do don't pull up a monthly chart of the S&P 500 and NASDAQ. Reversion to the mean would not be fun. Especially if you are over allocated to stocks and in or approaching retirement age. Just saying.

So we do need all that memory and semis? Or we don't? Exactly. That's what I thought. No one knows anything.
