We will definitely be back! We work with a number of high performing and improving public, private, charter, and religious schools in the area. Hoping to bring our summer Fresh Thinking Conference to Houston in the future!

It was a great day!! Would love for you to come back to Houston next year!!
Reach out if you ever want to do a quick zoom to ask questions, explore teaching methods, need help with lesson planning, or want me to model a student lesson with your kids. Happy to help!

What's the key to great PD? Great follow up! Just zoomed with teachers from a NY PD I did 2 weeks ago. Teachers can always request a quick follow-up zoom to ask questions, explore strategies, plan lessons, and even request a virtual student lesson for their kids. Happy to oblige!
Had such a great day together, right? Wish Greg Jr. & I could do a 2-day conference instead of just 1 day. Can teachers come during the school year for 2 days? If so, we'd consider that for next year. Thanks to all the teachers who joined us this week in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston!

Minimally guided instruction doesn't work with AI tutors either. One thing we are finding out is that Socratic questioning models are very frustrating for students when they withhold the explicit guidance novice learners actually need.

A new review of texts from US grad schools of education asks: what are new teachers actually being taught? Some of the advice is quite concerning.

It's difficult to overestimate how damaging this view of teaching and learning has been for so many kids.
Virtually every teacher trained over the last 50 years was taught that knowing stuff is the least important part of thinking.

Do I spy Math Limbo? We are adding hundreds of games to our curriculum this year. Thank you, Tammy!
💻 We worked hard today to get each and every student connected to our @Google Classroom. Then we enjoyed a little game time on @gregtangmath. So proud of these kids! #WeAreBethpage @BethpageUFSD @TierneyBethpage
Let me know if your students ever want to compare and explore strategies. Which ones generalize to all math problems and which are problem specific? Are there really strategies that help with ALL math problems? Really? Can anyone describe one? I bet someone can!
Math challenges are our favorite! 🎉 Get out those manipulatives! Day 10 of school! @3TrailsTigers @ISDSchools @gregtangmath
Greg Jr. and I have partnered with schools across the country to bring parents, families, and schools together around . . . MATH!
See why schools – year after year – bring us back for more. We are here to help!

We had a wonderful 2 days last week with 242 educators from all over the country. Last year we were in Kansas City. This year we were in New York. I hope you will consider joining us next year – wherever we are!
