The dumbest take of all is, “I’m not voting because I don’t like either candidate.” I’m sorry, but that logic is absolutely idiotic.
Do I like the two party system? No. Do I love every candidate on the ballot? Also no. But this isn’t Fantasy Land, where you magically get exactly what you want. Sometimes you have to compromise. Sometimes you have to choose the option that aligns most closely with your values, even if it isn’t your perfect choice.
That’s how democracy works. You don’t get to sit out because neither option is your dream candidate and then complain about the outcome. You have to participate in the process if you expect to have a say in the results.

If you're in the US, it's mid-term elections, which means that you'll likely be voting on a bunch of state measures, taxes, and your representatives. Anything from the House to your local district. I've said it a couple times now, but if you've complained at all about US politics -- or honestly anything -- in the past 2 years, this is your chance to make some changes! Even if you haven't complained and have loved what's happened, it's your chance to solidify that. Regardless, go vote! Today's the day to do it. I cannot stress how important it is that you do this.
Sitting out of an election is not a valid option. It's one of the remarkable examples of you able to DO something about your world, and the knowledge that you're trying.
